We've had lots of issues with Barrett. AI has been pretty stellar for me. I'm pretty much off the opinion that as long as AI is making rifles I will never build a custom gun that isn't a .223 or .22LR.
My factory TRG-42 (1-10" twist) shooting BHA 300gn ammo only gets 2666fps at the muzzle. Velocity deviations are good and it's shoot about .6-.7MoA with that load. I can do better with handloads seated out longer and faster.
I just got home from a deployment and it'll be the first full fall I've had in a few years so I bought an Idaho whitetail tag for unit 23 since I'll be up there for training anyway so I'm tagging on some leave. Does anyone have any general starting points or recommendations for where to go? I'm...
Some have ranging features for IPSC targets. There are also drills for certain target dimensions. That said, I will always use a LRF if allowed in a field match if I'm shooting small targets or long targets.
As long as I have a zero stop, I know where I am at night and I can't remember ever having a NF turret bump on me; Leupold, yes, because they have softer clicks. The "SOCOM" style locking turret sucks (real bitchy about set screw torque) and the caps for the lock frequently come loose and get...
I thought the 32mm was one of the most parallax free/forgiving optics I've used. I'm not a huge fan of the 24mm tho. I just wish I could get the 42mm with capped windage like I could on the other two.
I understand what you are talking about and do not disagree about cut barrels. The one place you can truly feel the difference is in smokeless muzzleloaders where you use a portion of the barrel, to make a sizing bushing for your die, and engrave/size the bullet to .000x under bore diameter...
How many have you had? I've never owned one that didn't shoot really well. And I've used them on everything from .22LR to smokeless muzzleloaders. I would also posit there is nothing wrong with buttoned barrels. Some of my best have been buttoned Benchmark but have had great barrels from...
No complaints from me. I ordered mine before they released the LA inlet and I knew it was an issue so I bought an Area 419 rail that Manners installed hardware for and I fit the rail to the bottom metal.
His still has the gap I'm talking about which is from the end of the rail to the belly of the stock and shows your bottom metal because Manners only made a mold for the SA. The new rail will still have it because the inlet hasn't changed and they aren't making a rail with a deeper cut for the...
