Have 2-3 lbs of Triple 7 FFG and 1 lb of 777 3FG in Rock county if anyone is looking for black powder. $40/lb Also have ~1.8-1.9 lbs of Reloder 17 for $85 total. Don't need much in trade but would consider 6.5MM 140 Elite Hunters or 130 TMKs (maybe 143 ELD-X too) and 22 cal 77 TMKs or 75...
I'm not going down that route although I could get it to last me a few years if needed. Just a data point on someone pushing 6mm DTACs. Out of curiosity/ignorance, does the shorter barrel and longer freebore make much difference on if the bullet would come apart or not? Or is it solely...
Ryan Avery on Rokslide is using the DTACs in a 6UM. Seems like similar velocities to what you're looking at with the 6PRC but I'm not sure if the powders would be similar. Not sure on linking another forum here but google "rokslide 6UM" and you'll find the thread and all the load...
19.25". Forgot to add that on this post. The difference between 2600fps and 2680 fps in the Hornady app is 600 vs 650 yards for dropping below 1800 fps at 800'. Probably more at hunting elevations, but both of those distances are already farther than I plan to shoot an animal anyways so no...
Finished up verifying some velocities today w/ 42.2 gr of H4350. CCI and Winchester primers w/ 140 EH and 143 ELD-X. Still a bit slow but it'll work for me.
I made a poor zero adjustment to compensate for the magnetospeed on the barrel so everything is left a bit. Minus the 2 shots I pulled (which still count) it shows some improvement over the last year. Each target was a different bullet/primer combo as I was just interested in gathering some...
Endurance is a great book. Possibly my favorite until I read Once an Eagle which ranks right up there with it. Copied from Amazon description Required reading for West Point and Marine Corps cadets, Once An Eagle is the story of one special man, a soldier named Sam Damon, and his...
Mine will be here this weekend. Do you like the bag for other positions or mainly prone? I shoot off a handrail a lot and like my game changer for that, but the answer seems like it’d be a better bag for shooting prone by far. Looking forward to trying it out
Looking for some #11 caps for a muzzleloader and maybe a few 209s (ideally muzzleloader version as I'm shooting 777). Have some RL17, IMR 4895, 4064, Win 231, and some CCI magnum small rifle primers to trade.. Maybe some other SRP or LRP but would have to be a bit better deal for me as I use...
What happens if you move to another state while you're waiting? Once your e-file is approved can the dealer transfer it to another dealer for you (presumably for a fee)?
What are some other "temp insensitive" powders you guys like for 6.5 creedmoor w/ 140-147 bullets. These are my results I just posted in the reloading data thread. Bit slow but also 32 degrees and a 19.25" barrel (stainless).
I don't shoot as much through the summer but am curious to send some across the chrono when it's warmer. I have a few velocities from before the barrel was cut in my log book and it's always been a little on the slow side. Not sure if 400 is really far enough to true up a velocity but the dope...
T3x Lite w/ original barrel cut to 19.25". New starline brass 1x resized w/ CCI primers & H4350. Measured w/ a magnetospeed sporter attached to a suppressor w/ sensitivity on Hi 2. Went through a ladder with some 140s and 143s today just to get an idea of what velocity I'm getting. 32...
How much do you shoot? What do you want to do with the rifle/load? Those groups probably don't give you much reliable data unless you reshoot them again and again and get consistent results. All of them overlaid give you like 1.5" or so assuming those are 1" squares? Unless you shoot a lot...
