Lots of good advise here. Really it comes down to the field conditions and how you’ve trained up to that point. I tend to lean towards holding, but this thread has me wanted to try dialing more in my practice.

I made my test plate out of plywood and a cheap 2” arca plate, then added a Velcro strap to hold the bino’s on. Ugly, but light & works.

The breakfast plate seems like a pretty economic solution. I hate the idea of more gear and bulk to ruck around, but for the added speed it makes sense.
