I think relative primer weight difference vs cartridge weight/size would be a factor. For 50BMG we did not test the relative affects, we just noticed the SDs were higher with unsorted primers...so I think we went from around single digits SDs sorted to 20-40 unsorted but I am not certain. For...
Got mine so far I am really happy with it. But can't really report on it until after I shoot it in match....will try to write a little about it in June.
Rockvapor, Great data! I shoot 50BMG 1000yd FCSA matches which are basically bench-rest, with the RWS primers we import we see differences in weight and we do know it affects SD to some degree....your data makes me feel better about sorting 3000 primers to .01 grains....great wintertime...
Glad you made an appointment. Shooting helped me discover I had cataracts, I happened to look through the scope with my left eye and it was clear and bright compared to the right eye. I ended up getting replacement lenses called Cystalens, you can focus them "almost" like your young...
I have one of the Holosun Thermal (DRS-TH) on order....but I guess it may be a while since they are still fine tuning them. DocUSMCRetired any new news with respect to shipping dates?
Is the barrel and brake stainless? I have stainless fasteners friction weld, of course a lot of that is dependent on the particular alloy of stainless...304,305 and 306 "cheap stainless" are really prone to that. I don't know about 416 have not played with it enough. I always put something on...
I want to get an order in with them, I have a few questions maybe members here can answer. Does the lower receiver have the "lower" shelf under the rear take-down pin, in other words will it accept a registered drop in auto sear? (rDIAS appropriately registered with the ATF) I have this...
At the show the topic came up, at one point they were developing a thermal and night vision device not sure if that's the high end device your speaking of. Of course they are not going to release all their plans but I got the impression anything new was a year out at least.....but you never know.
Played with the Thermal version at Shot 2024, not sure where 68 meters came from neither were they(or at least the rep I talked to, he said he had seen deer out much farther).... At the price point, I was impressed with the integration of the red-dot to the thermal. Seems like the perfect...
Ilya and Conqueror, Thanks for the assist!!! Regarding 6-24 x 72 SAM I tried Zeiss with no luck. The more I think about it the more I think nothing is actually wrong with the scope anyway. I was more or less using it in bench rest style shooting, not at all what it was intended for...The...
Just shot an FCSA match with .05MIL clicks vs .1MIL clicks, I liked it better. I know its not MOA (.1MIL clicks are 3.6 inches at 1000yds) anyway it made a difference for me in fine tuning group placement. Of course FCSA is mostly bench rest and scored for group size and score so a bit...
I have a USO SN9, the epoxy that hols the objective on was failing, I contacted USO they said if they cant fix it then I get whatever scope they I want that they currently sell. I have had hat USO since 2007....anyway they fixed it for me super happy with their attitude, when I wrote them they...
I am thinking about getting one for 50BMG 1000 yard matches, waiting to see what people think of the parallax adjustments. On one of the fliers they say it is available with other reticles,....whatever that means...I doubt that matter to me. I like that it is MIL and .05 turrets :-) If there...
I just discovered this on my SN9, no idea when it happened, have not shot the scope much and at all for the last decade at least, clearly something is not right. I was more concerned about it until I saw this thread. Hopefully they will be able to service it, I do not expect it to be covered...
Not sure it helps but a point of data for you, my expander mandrel is .507, I use Warner dies, my neck collet is .548 with solid brass bore-riders having a driving band of .5102 I have VERY light neck tension. These rounds could not be magazine feed, your can pull them apart with your hands...
Keith, I just happened to do a search on 50BMG reloading, your post came up. I would recommend going to a 50BMG match, 1/2 MOA is great....not as many matches as ELR or PRS by a ways but still a fun way to burn powder!!! Check out the FCSA if your interested!
Ok holy crap the torn retina symptoms I would notice...wow that is some scary sounding shit! But also VERY good to know thanks!! I am "only" 56, my cataracts were likely early for me due to so much high altitude flight, also in the Navy I was bad about wearing a tinted visor...half the time I...
Lenses, no they are not glass some special flexible plastic of some sort....this is the normal treatment for cataracts, as I understand it somepoint they used cadaver lenses, did not fact check that though. (google key words "cataract surgery" explains it all way more clear than I can) I can...
