Yes, im running same kestrel. My elevation lined up on half or fv wind. I guess Ill just keep making educated guesses at it. I just didnt know if there was a rough rule of thumb, or a formula to use. Its kind of an odd scenario for most shooting I do anyway.
Yeah, I was on at 3k on practice day also. The 2400 yard target on day 1 is a prime example if you were there. I hit it 3 times but added 4 tenths to my dope. Had 1130 wind at 18ish
After shooting the KRG Extreme elr match this weekend I have been researching this topic on the 14hr drive home with no good answer. I know this doesnt make a big difference till you get out past 1000 yards, but several stages this weekend while glassing before I shot, I noticed several...
This was 3 rifles and 4 shooters today in some stupid headwind that was switching and gusting, but the 245s did great out to 2230 yards. All 3 were shooting 86.7gr n570. The 245s were still denting the 3/16" AR400 plate at 1535 yards!!!
Me and 3 friends are all shooting 245 lrht with n570 and 86.7 is damn good in all 4 300nm AI rifles. Sd of 7ish +- @ 2980, and same hole at 100. We went to 1 mile last week and going to 1.5 miles tomorrow. Shoot way better than the 225 eld we were using.
Few things to help with what you have till you get a gun you want. Put a few steel targets in the field and leave them there, and wind flags near them. Gives you something to practice on, as well as known distances for quick dope. Also keep dope for those targets taped on your rifle...
Seen some guys use a pint size game changer with heavy fill with arca attachment right in front of magwell and then use a bipod and seperate bag for the rear when prone. Im guessing that adds 5 lbs.
I definitely wont split it up, but thank you. If you buy the whole rifle, you will have the action. I would love to sell just the rifle and keep the brass/dies
Ok, will do. If he doesnt want the brass and dies i may sell them, but id like to eventually get a 7-300wm barrel for my axsr. The round is pretty awesome
