    Super rare Tula Mts13-1

An actual gunsmith can make parts, as necessary. Some people who work on firearms are simply parts fitters with zero trade training.

    French FRF2 Sniper rifle

I wasn't trying to be nasty. Basic French instructions are pretty easy to translate, especially where you are familiar with the type of material that will be in the manual. Gauche is left, droit is right and most of the nouns should be pretty easy. NB Some French academic type has reportedly...

    French FRF2 Sniper rifle

Not that hard to understand French. You should be able to get by with a genuine pocket French to English dictionary unless ... this is just a pathetic excuse to avoid the missus' job list:D!

Best scope rings/mount for Anschutz 54?

The Sportsmatch rings are excellent and … so well made that I can mix sets, i.e. use a single screw ring mount with a twin screw ring mount when mounting a scope on a .22 bolt action OR a very short .22 self-loader. I bought my first set over 30 years ago and they are still going strong. One of...

    Sniping Old School

In regard to electric primers, sone years back I heard about a Royal Marine who carried his HK wunderwaffen up by the radar arrays on his ship. I knew what had happened before the story was completed. The electromagnetic radiation set off the rifle. He stopped it by removing the magazine. I...

Front stuffers and pumpkin slinger picture thread…

Thank you for showing this rifle. It is a work of art and … as a Range Officer, I prefer a wooden ramrod for the safety check🙂. Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.

    long lost Hebrew hammer

Back in WW2, a batch of .30 cal ammo sent to the Pacific theatre reportedly fouled so badly that only the Johnson rifle, Johnson LMG and the Browning 1919 could use it! That sort of ammo tolerance has to be a point in favour of the Johnson system.

Hunting & Fishing Your “go to” hunting rifle?

Good combo. Do you tend to leave the scope on it's brightest setting for dawn and dusk hunting?

    More not snipery, but vintage

Sorry. Addressed wrong person. Bit worn out, coming up to Christmas and bouncing between work sites. Have a good week!

Kimberly 82G. I assume that it is the standard American 3/8" groove designed for target diopter sights.

Good test. If it went perfectly, you would probably be worried. Thanks for the updates.

Ballistics of 7.62x54R and 7.92x57 ammo

Decades ago, Norma made an 8mm Hollow-point target projectile that was reportedly based on the sS 198gr projectile. Din Collings RIP told me that it was an excellent bullet. I suspect that obtaining a packet of those projectiles would be almost as difficult as finding .577 Rewa ammo!

I really want to build one of these...

Long time since I had to cut fuze safety and crimp a detonator to the fuze BUT six (6) inches might be a tad short for the first length off the roll. Too late at night here, to drag out my old SME supplied information.
