I had a similar experience. Except I did my 100+ cycles right in the gun store and still decided not to buy it. It was surprisingly light though. and workmanship/ machining appeared top notch in every other way.- SilentDark

Order from PTG?
My 2x bolt order from them both received shipping notices during week 8 and I received them during week 9. That said, I also bought an "in stock" firing pin assembly that showed over 20 available and didn't receive it for 6 weeks. They're so inconsistent. I just ordered an new bolt from...- SilentDark

Remage or RPR
Faced with this same dilemma, I chose to go the Remage route. I then proceeded to find a SS receiver for $175, got a bolt machined by PTG and fit to my action by Phoenix Custom. Now that I see you hope to possibly get into PRS shooting...I'd buy a Tikka.- SilentDark
