    .308 Winchester

I shot many 175 Sierra TMK’s and 180 Speers and Accubond LR’s over the years using Varget and 748, but had the best luck with Reloder 15 across the board. It’s worth a try if you don’t have any.

    Leveling a scope

I use an extension cord thrown over a limb about 15 feet high with a cinder block tied on the end and suspended a few inches off the ground. It’s thick enough to pick up with the scope.

Those are sharp. I would get the lever cerakoted in a clear coat and rock one.

Show me your McMillan a6 and a5

Hey no problem. I went with a basic rail from Henderson Precision and had McMillan build it into the stock, then just added the RRS rail to it using their fasteners. I think the R-lock is just as secure as a picatinny when the pin in the clamps are engaged.

Show me your McMillan a6 and a5

It doesn’t stick out, it is well contained inside the forend.

I had that same style Marlin in 45-70 and it was very fun to shoot with open sights. Had an adjustable tang mounted rear peep sight installed to be able to reach out there.

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

Another option for a MPVO with a useable reticle at minimum power is the Riton Conqueror 7 3-18x50 with the T3 reticle. It has a fairly large center dot and reticle stadia lines that subtend 0.2 mils. The scope has a lot going for it. Crisp turrets with a hard zero stop at 0 (no dialing under...

Why are AR15s so difficult to shoot for the average shooter?

I would bet flinching does have a lot to do with it. I handed many a friend my old 454 casull with an empty chamber and watched them flinch so badly upon pulling the trigger that had there been a round in the chamber, they would have hit dirt 10 feet in front of them.

Awesome suppressor muzzle brake front end attachment by Recoilx

I think they’ll adapt. They’re smart guys who build world class stuff. It took them awhile to roll out the HUB, too.

I have only replaced the trigger, sear, and springs in one levergun out of several I have owned, but it made a world of difference. Cycles like butter and brought the trigger weight down from around 6 pounds to about 2 or 3. I highly recommend it.

Rifle Scopes Top tier scope recommendation

Definitely wait for the Euro version to hit the US market. Was not a fan of the FOV restriction in the one I had.

Ranger Point Precision has replacement triggers and springs that will ease and smooth out cycling effort as well.

I have a soft spot for lever guns. I once owned a 26” octagon-barreled Marlin 45-70 but sold it off like a dummy. But it didn’t have the stories nor the soul of your rifle.

I picked up a 1980 Marlin 35 Rem several years ago and was shocked at the going rates for 35 Rem ammo. Had to buy a few boxes just for the brass, but it was way too expensive. 45-70 and 30-30 were so much cheaper.

Love the rifle. You hit that rock with open sights? Wow.

    Steiner T6xi

My elevation is mushy until about five mils up, then it becomes more tactile. Windage is much better. The elevation lock should have been taller to limit turret movement. As it is you kinda have to baby it with your fingers to not move the turret when locking. @DeathBeforeDismount curious if...
