I've got the western hunter in 6.5 prc and it's a 3/4 minute gun. That's about as good as I can shoot with any gun, so I'm very happy with that. I was ready to dislike the factory stock, but I honestly have no complaints with the gun overall. It shoots well, feeds well, and carries well. I'd...
My experience has been with this in 6.5 prc flavor, and it shot very well in my bone stock browning xbolt. I didn't chrono it since it was a brand new gun and had no use for it other than sighting in and getting used to the gun. Great ammo though, and won't hesitate to get more of it.
I will also say that all the folks at WTO were awesome to deal with. I had them turn a turd of a howa in 30-06 into a great shooting 6.5-06. I wouldn't hesitate to take my next project to them.
I have been really happy with my Lowa boots. I got the Tiagos on sale at Sierra Trading Post, which are great for work, but I probably wouldn't hunt with them as they are suede. I work on concrete and am a fairly large guy at 6' 3" and 230lbs, and I haven't had a single day of aching or hurt...
I don't have experience with the 7x64 exactly, but have used the .280 Remington (ballistically identical) to take whitetails and would have no hesitation in using one again. Recoil is the same as a .270 Winchester, and the variety of bullets for handloading is better. And on the up side Tikkas...
I have the Bisley and love it. It's my deer gun, and I have zero complaints about it. The recoil with heavy +P loads roll in the hand, so follow up shots are easy. As for speed I think it comes down to practice. If you're looking at out running a competition Glock, then not many revolvers using...
I have a nice heavy barreled 98 Mauser in .257 Roberts and love it. It's a great round to shoot and load for, but brass is not as available as .25-06. If I were to do it again I think a .25-06 AI would be neat, especially with some 115grn Bergers.
