    No clue about the discoloration but I’d put the bore scope away and shoot it before I got it in my head that the barrel was no good before I even shot it. Forgive the run on sentence. Lol Both my RTR Grendel barrels shoot good.

    It looks like mid +1. Recoil impulse feels like an 18” rifle gas set up. I think they advertise a .075” port. They’re on sale at EuroOptic for $289 last time I checked if anyone is interested.

    Optics Advice for AR-15

    Used Bushnell Elite Tactical DMR2’s and XRS2’s are gems as well and can be found sub $1k if you have cash on hand and have patience. If it’s just a bench gun you’ll appreciate the magnification. I like my XRS2 with the H59 better than my NX8 4-32 for shooting off a bench in non dusk/dawn times.

I’ve run brakes, a2’s, and 3 or 4 prong flash hiders and I’ve always gotten better groups with muzzle devices that equallaterally disperse the gasses at the muzzle.     Looking for a truck gun

    I get it. My “truck guns” are 16” 223wylde or 18” 6.5 Grendel small frames. Both fit under the rear seat of a 4door Chevy with a LPVO or full sized optic. Neither have any question of legality. Neither require notification to cross a state line. It’s just easier.
