NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

It's actually a little of both, I seem to have mitigated it a little by really fine tuning the catch on the magazine. It feeds just fine if I am have it on a tripod and carefully cycle the bolt, but it seems to be finicky if my magazine is pressed up against anything or has pressure on it. It...

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

Brand new RimX owner here... I have mine sitting in an MDT XRS chassis. The only issue I seem to have is that I can't seem to adjust the magazine to get rid of the "slop" and keeping it tight in the mag well. Any advice? I was thinking of just trying to put some tape or something inside the...

    Rimfire Rifle Photos Thread

My first "fancy" rimfire. I primarily use it to shoot gophers. I see I am going to have to do some reading on how to get this thing to feed flawlessly. I didn't even notice the magazines had an adjustment on them and I took it out and promptly wedged a shell in there pretty good. It shoots...

    Which Heavy Duty Truck?

I put on about 50k a year for work, and have had at least 9-10 half ton trucks over the years. A couple of GMC's then all F150s. Decided to switch it up this year and picked up an F250. So far I am really impressed, it doesn't handle or drive like a "big truck" at all. Has a smooth ride...

Does Mile high have the best customer service?

They have always treated me right for sure. I don't mind paying more if you get good customer service alongside it. I have always been "you get what you pay for" type dude and every time I regrettably went the cheap route (optics planet) it was always met with some angst on the CS or shipping...

    Hog hunting rifle choice

Same exact thing up here with the lion houndsman. They are a unique, competitive, bunch. As a result, there are a lot of them who resort to some shady shit to get on a cat. As to the original post...I am just a hog tourist, but have killed more than 100 and less than 500. Shooting them...

Wtf is this lone survivor or lone runner stuff about?

My brother is career military, been in two branches of service. He is like this. He has been deployed overseas many times, in some real shit parts of the earth. I don't know if I have every heard him talk about a single mission or really anything he did when he was over there. Only very...

Hunting & Fishing Taylor Knockout Factor

This is true. I am not up to 500, but do have a pretty good sample size. What is weird about bullets and bullet performance is that just when you think you are developing a baseline you get an outlier or two that totally messes with your mind. Which of course leads you to trying new stuff...

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

Went down south for my annual ham slam, much later than we normally go..it was hot! We had an average haul, but had one night where we got into a bachelor (sounder, herd?) and killed some pretty big boars. Got 7/8 boars recovered and it was a hell of a next day dragging them out of the field...

    We the Sheeple

It's bad...Even where I live (in a deep red state) the level of bureaucracy at the State and Local levels is absolutely astounding. I saw first hand how alot of the covid money was spent and was absolutely aghast at the waste. It was unbelievable.

Hardest part of having a dog

I have always been amazed at how pets (especially dogs) have a way of finding the soft spots in most folks. Ironically, nothing seems to bring out the humanity in people more than a pet. My dog is 16, and amazingly is still pretty dang peppy. He has definitely slowed down, but still has a...

Night Vision New Team Member @ Strictly Offensive Kit!

These guys are good dudes. I bought a thermal drone from them and they certainly walk the walk.

Hunting & Fishing Sandhill crane hunt

We can draw a permit for them here in MT. They come out of the air like a B52 when you get one. No better eating meat on a bird than a Sandhill Crane, bar none. Pretty sure TX has some pretty liberal seasons on them compared to the northern states, but not 100% sure on that one.

Talk me out of an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29

Super rare to find a consensus on the Hide regarding scopes...but I will agree that the Cronus is one of the best "bang for the buck" scopes out there. I have one on my .22, but it made its way around all my rifle setups. Good scopes with clear glass, a good reticle, and a solid feel.

Trump tells an Indian reporter what we've all said when talking to 1-800 call centers..

I just hang up if I call a customer service number and it is a foreigner. I think this is a big reason why Trump keeps winning. Most people feel the exact same way he does, the media tries to vilify him, and it backfires. I despise social media, but it probably has helped Trump more now than...

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

Went out for 2 nights this weekend and got skunked. One of the weirdest two nights ever. First night we saw about 12 coyotes, not a one would respond to a call. Threw everything but the kitchen sink at em, and zero results. We were on a 11,000 acre place, and I don't think these coyotes had...

    Snow-pocolypse 2025

We had a really dry and warm fall for SW MT. I would say it is about "normal" now, whatever that means. The older I get, the less tolerance I have for winter. I used to own a t-shirt that said "summer sucks" back when I was an avid snowmobiler, now I am really wanting to head south to some...

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

Headed out for a mid-winter session this coming weekend. Catch 22 this time of year in my neck of the woods. The snow is deeper, the air is colder, and the coyotes are hungrier and more receptive to calls. That being said, the deep ass snow and cold temps generally just make everything a big...

    Scope Chaps updated website

In my opinion the best suppressor cover on the market. Never had one move or slip. Edit….got confused with the other product they make. But the scope chaps are good too

Help with decision on replacing barrel or new rifle

I handload the Hammer line of bullets (all copper) and have found them to be extraordinarily easy to load for accuracy wise. All sorts of different calibers from .22 to .30. I agree with the above about CA, but whatever you do, DO NOT LEAVE CALIFORNIA. Stay and fight the good fight...
