    Rifle blowing primers after Nitride

I have a 22x47 rifle that shot fine for the first barrel. The second barrel shot 101 rounds perfectly before being nitrided, then after nitride it started blowing primers with 95 grain bullets. Under guidance from the builder, we tried reducing powder by 2 grains and went down to 82.5 gr...

    Thunder Valley precision

Tom is building new targets out to 2500 yds along with a new shooting pavilion. The new targets are not ready quite yet but the new pavilion is built. The other berms for open range have steel and orange clays. Hitting an orange clay at 1,000 yds or beyond is quite fun...

    Custom 22x47 rifle

I recently took delivery of a wildcat cartridged rifle in 22x47. The brass started life as 6.5x47 Lapua and took considerable time to resize and turn the necks of 500 pieces. This gun shoots a .224 SMK 95gr bullet at around 3200fps. The correction at 1000 yds is 5.9 mils. This past week...

Range Report 1,000 yd BR match at Thunder Valley Precision

Not sure where to post this so I took a guess this would be the best place. Pretty happy with my 1,000 benchrest competition yesterday. Scored highest score (49) and smallest five shot group (7.215 inches). Second match I shot a score of 44 and an 11 inch group. Wind was gusting up and down...

Load data RL-17 for the 6.5 Creedmoor Berger 140 gr Hybrid target bullets?

Has anyone used RL-17 for the Berger 140 gr Hybrid target bullets and if so how much? I loaded up some Berger 140 gr Hybrid target with RL-19 according to the Berger Load manual ans used 43.0 grams of powder. My average FPS was ONLY 2558 when it should have been close 2699. I shot them all so I...
