    Finally shot my new Tikka T3X Varmint. The only changes I did was add the Dave Yo spring and drop it into a KRG X-Ray. This is Hornady 223 55 grain VMAX at 100 yards.

    I went with .97 Vortex Precision Matched Rings. Fyi, .87 will work if you want the scope to be as low as possible.

    I have a T3X Varmint 223 in the X-Ray. In order for my Accurate Mag to fit, I have to place the front lip of the magazine in first.

    25 yards (22 lr and 17hmr) 50 yards (AR15 with red dot or iron sights) 100 yards for everything else

    I'm really glad I found this forum and thread. I'm looking at the KRG X-RAY (FDE) (w/ spigot mount and qd sling plate) vs the XLR carbon which is $130 more. Still tilting towards the KRG as I like both polymer and FDE. FWIW, this is for my Tikka T3X Varminint 223. Am I understanding this...

    Just curious if you're still using the MDT 223 mags or if you have switched to Accurate Mag. I ask because I'm considering dropping my T3X 223 Varmint into the X-Ray Chassis.

    I'll look into the X-ray by KRG and Element Chassis by XLR. Anyone else have any more suggestions? I really wish a local retailer would carry these in stock so you can play with them. It's hard to make a big ticket decision when all you have are pictures on a website.

    That's good to know. I'm fairly knew to bolt action rifles. My current prairie dog gun is a Daniel Defense M4V7. May I ask what scope you're using on your rig?

    I just got a Tikka T3X Varmint in 223. I plan on using this as a prairie dog gun. Is it in poor taste to put in a chassis? Is this something that's frowned upon or does nobody give a damn?
