AR-10 is chewing up my brass

If you get the high pressure bolt make sure to get the firing pin to match.

AR-10 is chewing up my brass

Hornady brass I find at the range always looks like this out of a AR10. The stuff is crap.

AR-10 is chewing up my brass

just because it throws the brass at 3-4 does not mean it is gassed properly. Turn down the gass and get a heavier buffer. But you may not be able to make the brass look better. AR10's are hard on brass

    AAC ammo grenading rifles

These are splitting because of the case drawing operation had a problem. The brass gets thin on one side and this happens. It happens to EVERY brand of ammo. Some it just happens more often. Most people don't reload and don't pick up their brass so they would never know about it

    Jarvis cz457 barrel

Looking to replace the barrel on my cz. Looking at some of the cheaper barrels. I don't see a whole lot about these barrels. All I can find is barrels they did on a rem 597. I don't care about the expensive barrels. Not going to happen. Already into this for more than I wanted to be. Anyone?

    AAC ammo grenading rifles

Someone should be talking to Hornady if the bullets are stripping the jacket. Only time it usually does this is on a really low fps load. The jacket can lodge in the barrel and the lead will shoot out the end. Never seen it on a rifle but have seen it a few times with Speer 44cal 240gr half...

    Weird Eley Match Lot#

Lot #'s stay the same as long s the exact same lots of components making the lot are the same. They are not going to change lot#'s for a shift change.

    Weird Eley Match Lot#

Any of you guys work in a production environment? Just because it is the same lot # means nothing if the run was started on one shift and ended with another. Nothing is done exactly the same when you have different people making the same thing. One guy will let something run on the high end of...

Pistol Reloading Issue I cant figure out

If it is blazer brass you are using or the ones you are having trouble with, that is the problem. The brass is thinner and it needs a undersize die to load it. If you use a plated or lead bullet this will go away. The Blazer brass is made to use 0.356" bullets. If not then just order a Lee...

    Ruger Precision Rimfire

I thought the same with going to a CZ. Mine will NO SHOOT ANYTHING well. It is an American but just like Ruger you get duds with CZ. Only ones that usually shoot well are the MTR. The barrels are different between the models on the CZ guns. Not only different chambers but different size of...

    What's the Go-To 223 Brass Now?

All the Win brass I find at the public range have signs of overpressure. I tried to load a few but I could put the primers in with my fingers. The brass was not reloaded. I watched the guys take them out of the boxes and shoot them. All factory. but I do use the WRA 556 Win makes. That is the...

    What's the Go-To 223 Brass Now?

Creedmoor Sports was sending out backordered Lapua 223 last week. So if you didn't get it then you are in for a long long wait. I have been using Starline in my bolt guns. In my ARs they get whatever I pick up at the range.

    Ring on bullet

if you have any powder compression it will cause this too. You don't have to lap the bullet into the seater stem. You just need to break the edge of the stem so it does not have a sharp edge.

    AR 15 reloading

Some bullets are not meant for magazine loading. Hornady 75gr hpbt was one of them.
