    223 Ackley Improved

I would bump up the varget. Double check me but that seems low for a 75. That's a fairly standard load in a standard 223. For comparison, I run 24.5gr of n140 with my 90s in a fire forming load. N140 is pretty close to varget in burn rate, maybe a touch faster.

    223 Ackley Improved

What's your data? Need more info to help you out. Running 88s or 90s with n140 I haven't had issues. Nor with varget, h4895 or 8208. You won't get as low of SDs as a dasher but you'll be under 15 fairly easily IME

    223 Ackley Improved

Started at 23.2 and ran it to 25.1 best groups at 24.2 and 24.5. Again, spicy with the 88s. Run with long freebore.

    6mm creedmoor short barrel

It's a savage take off. I'll have to check. But 2830 was were I ended up with a moderate load of 4350 and 112s iirc

    223 AI powders besides 8208

24-25 grains with my 223AI. I have extra freebore so if you're stuffed into the case, start lower.

Data for ALL Cals Ackley Imp

It's SIG 23 brass for the 277 fury, resized to 7/08 then fire formed into the 7/08 Ackley. I bought the brass as pull downs from American Reloading for about $.60/case. I'm still working out the longevity part but right now after two firings I'm seeing no change in the case or primer pocket...

223 AI load data and reloading query

24.5gr varget 90gr SMK 26" barrel 2808 fps Mild and stupid accurate. Don't chase speed. You might be able to get to 25-25.5, but north of that you're playing with a grenade.

    SD's in .223 /5.56

Speaking on the Ackley side, I typically see between 8-11 SDs. Using 90s and N140 has been a solid combo out of my 26" bolt gun. My last load I chronoed: AB 5.56 brass Annealed and trimmed 25gr N140 90gr SMK AVG: 2784 SD: 9 ES: 24

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Worked well at mammoth. Didn't lose zero and was definitely a huge help on UKD stages. I saw a lot of them there and you could see the difference it made with scoring hits.

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

I centered my visible laser. I would do a near and far zero. I also found that out to 7-800 yards I would get repeatable hits but after that I would be high. At 1k I was .4 mils (or something like that) high or so, so I brought it down and was good from there.

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Had to send my unit back. It had intermittent power issues under recoil. Guess there's a battery connection issue on some of them that causes it to lose power. Called vortex and within ten minutes had a RMA in my inbox. They have the best CS I've ever encountered in a large company and...

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

My only gripe personally so far is the lack of a lanyard loop for dummy cording the easy to lose remote to the rifle if you're using Velcro especially. I drilled a small hole and ran some high strength kevlar string through it and to the scope. I'm using this at Mammoth II and can't afford to...

    223 Ackley Improved

26" 1/7 barty. Was between 2800-2900. The 24.1 h4895 was mid level pressure and 25.3 and over n140 was hot. Lapua brass held up to the pressure, but I blew primers with LC quite often when I got over 25.6 of n140. 25.2 n140 with 90smks held 6-7 SD and I had minimal issues spotting impacts to...

    223 Ackley Improved

It's been my go to rifle for years but even more so with the new high BC bullets. 2750-2850 depending on freebore and power with the 88s is a solid combo for training and local matches. It doesn't do too bad even at larger prs matches.
