    Another 22-250 thread

Are you worried that 9 twist is too much, or not enough? If you're worried about over-spinning / bullet blow ups, it's not quite as simple as twist & speed. Different bullets are constructed differently and will have different RPM limits. Also, the roughness of the bore, especially the throat...

    XLR For Hunting

I have an STR, and while the locking thingy helps, it's not rock-solid. Also, the adjustable cheek piece is a must-have. It's not just my fat face that it needs to fit.

    XLR For Hunting

I've definitely "fixed" a number of things that way, but I'd probably try to rig up a knob for the "lock up" screw on the Luth-AR MBA-3 before going that route.

    XLR For Hunting

What butt stock do you guys like for the Element? I wanted to use the Magpul PRS Gen3, but there's not enough clearance between the front of the stock and the grip. My hand runs into it, and while I can shoot it that way, it's a bit annoying. I searched a bit, but there doesn't seem to be...

    Tikka T3 Thread

That was probably me: It's not "rocket surgery", but it sure is a pain in the ass. My brother did one where he didn't care about saving the barrel, so he just squeezed it directly in a bench vice. He still had to put a pipe wrench on it to keep it from spinning. Dear Tikka, Please either...

Should work just fine. Also, I'm not sure which extension tool you have, but I got one from PVA, and I can vouch that it works fine on LH barrel extensions. I'll take that LH extension as payment :p.

    22 creedmoor

The 75 ELDM is an excellent choice for coyotes. I shot 58 last season with that bullet, and maybe 3 or 4 even took another step. 8 twist should be fine. That's what I use. Check out Staball 6.5 for powder. Hornady load data shows it about 150fps faster than H4350, and while RL26 is faster...

    Savage Impulse 1 year update

One thing you can do to provide a little more cheek piece height and add some comfort is to use a Hoptic Saddle Blanket I think I used one made for Magpul PRS or maybe a Luth-AR stock and cut it to fit. I run those on nearly all my stocks.

    Damaged Barrel Extension Lugs

I just sheared the top off of the bottom center lug on the barrel extension. 22 ARC, running factory Hornady 62 v-match. The bolt looks fine. I'll have to see what the manufacturer says...

"Over Gassed" AR's Fact or Fiction? Other Perspectives

Ok... they're made to a certain "spec", which usually even includes what ammo they're going to use. Pretty easy to dial that in. Throw a high back pressure can on the end and see how they run... There are a number of factors (barrel length, gas system length, port size, etc) involved in the...

"Over Gassed" AR's Fact or Fiction? Other Perspectives

I have. Twice. In both cases an AGB fixed it. Latest was a buddies 18" 556 with mid-length gas. It seemed a bit over-gassed in the first place, but was functional. Then he threw a suppressor on, and started having "jamming" (I forget what exactly was happening) issues. We put an adjustable...

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

If you have a .473 bolt and a short action mag, all you need is a barrel. I just got a 22 Creed SRS barrel from PVA. Only 12 rounds down it so far, so I can't claim anything, but it looked very good in the borescope. Turnaround was about 2 months.

Correct. I tried a few different Salmon River Solutions rails. This vid shows them both. The rail setup shown near the end is what I've been running the last year or so.

Yeah, I hit a little high on the shoulder blade, which tends to leave a giant crater, and parts fly everywhere. Interestingly, if hit them head-on in the chest, or right behind the shoulder, the 75 ELDM acts like a varmint bullet. Small entrance, no exit, and dead right there.

    Savage Impulse bottom metal?

You might be mixing a few things here. I don't believe the OP has an Impulse Predator. I commented that I do. I'll say that I don't think there's any reason for a pissing match here. So anyhow... @shoots100 how hard would it be for your machinist buddy to copy the Predator bottom metal...

    Savage Impulse bottom metal?

Sadly, I'm not surprised. I ran into the same thing when I wanted to buy an extra barrel extension and recoil lug for my Impulse, which would give it 'switch barrel' capabilities. Maybe that's something they never intended, but it would make the whole platform a lot more interesting. To be...

    Savage impulse AICS bottom metal?

It would be neato if Savage would just sell you the Predator (aics) bottom metal, but based on my experience with them, I doubt it. They act like no one would ever want to buy individual rifle parts for their rifles.
