    AMP or Annie?

If you're lazy (like I am) and don't want to fool around with getting annealing times right and having to change the setup constantly for different calibers....get the AMP. It's plug and play and stupid simple and there's no fooling around with it. For me the less time spent in the reloading...

Sidearms & Scatterguns New shotgun SBE3

SBE2/3 for hunting. Gas operated for anything else. The inertia driven shotguns can't suck up enough of the recoil. Gas gun all the way for trap/skeet/sporting clays a little heavier and a usually can tune the gas system a little to get the lightest recoil possible. My SBE2 is not great for...

Rifle Scopes Top Three Top Tier Scopes

I'm no optics expert, but from my experience most of it comes down to the fact that it's an overall shorter scope and a smaller magnification range. The 420 has a slightly brighter image than the 527 because its overall shorter length = more light transmission to the eye; and it also has a wider...

Rifle Scopes Top Three Top Tier Scopes

Depends on what you're doing with the rifle. But for me it's ZCO and TT >>> everything else other than a slightly better turret feel though I don't think TT is $1000-1200 better than ZCO, hence why I have a 527 and another one soon with the mpct3x

    Is red threadlocker acceptable

Wait for Rocksett. Rocksett has a better temperature range than standard 271 red loctite. Red loctite usually can be removed once heated past 450-500 F. On a heavy use semi-auto suppressor host, 500 is actually pretty easy to reach (just run a full mag through your 300 and get laser thermometer...

    6x47 Lapua

I don't have a lot of experience running 6x47, but with my new barrel I've had good luck with 105's at 20 thou off loaded with 38.6 grains H4350. FGMM Small rifle primers. Lapua 6.5x47 brass necked down. Running fast in my new Benchmark at 3080. But it's a hammer.

What's the most stupid thing you've been told?

"Why'd you spend all that money on a custom rifle? My Savage 6.5 creedmoor has over 5000 rounds down it and still shoots 1/4MOA groups I have all the cases of ammo I've shot through it too prove it." Then proceeds to tell me he doesn't trust gunsmiths to work on his rifle hence why he prefers...

Hunting & Fishing Coyote Hunting Tips

I'm no super experienced coyote hunter but have put quite a few down. The things I have picked up on or learned the hard way super early on in my time hunting yotes is that you can't park the pickup far enough away, start your calling as quiet as you can and work up from there with lots of...

    Advanced Marksmanship Truing BC

.1 is nothing to worry about I agree. I just always check MV before going to BC adjustments. If I know my MV is accurate and what I have in my kestrel then I move to BC. Maybe he hasn't used a chrono for real numbers he's getting out of his barrel with that lot of ammo he made or bought. That...

    Advanced Marksmanship Truing BC

First, do you have an accurate velocity from a good chrono you can trust (e.g. Magnetospeed or labradar)? Could just be velocity isn't what you think it is.

Why shoukd I buy an AMP annealer

Buy a Giraud annealer, Annealeez, or Bench source for less than half that of an AMP and you can still anneal your brass and get a longer life out of it with more consistent neck tension.
  13. C

What goofy crap do you do to ensure consistency in your reloads?

Buy Lapua brass and use an expander mandrel on all my necks after sizing. That's it. The less time spent in the reloading room the better. I even stopped depriming my brass before tumbling now. I tumble then deprime and full length size in one step. Dirty primer pockets haven't made a difference...

    Heartbeat moves reticle

Most of it's due to your setup to the rifle and/or your rifle setup as has been pointed out above. Your buttstock isn't resting on your collarbone it's resting to the right and lower than your collarbone, in that soft spot of the "shoulder pocket". Applying too much pressure in this area puts a...

Rifle Scopes At what distance does glass "really" start to matter to you?

Glass is a subjective thing, but only when you're comparing within each (price) tier of optics. Comparing a ZCO or TT or S&B to a Vortex PST or Athlon or Bushnell etc. is like comparing a Subaru WRX to a Ferrari. The Subaru feels all sporty and fun and "fast" until you drive a Ferrari. But...
