Hey op. Just now seeing this. I can maybe help ya with some of it if you still need. I have a few omega 300’s with various end caps. I’m looking for 6.5 ti as well.
Well FWIW, got ahold of them and they are going to do my barrel. Spoke to Teresa, and she's still there doing work. It's Franks wife as mentioned earlier so I'll roll the dice and send my bolt out today. I've bought a few barrels from them in the past and she remembers me.
All my Seekins have done that. Maybe not a full 1/8" but had some decent play. It always kinda bothered me. I think it's the drilling on the shaft of safety for detent.
I used a dead blow hammer with frozen barrel and heated upper receiver. Worked without having to hit the barrel very hard. You'll need a vise and the tool that holds the receiver.
I'm kind of in the same boat as your OP. Bartlein barrel 20'', rifle gas, 22.0 gr of 8208, cci450, Thunderbeast ultra 7 in .223 direct thread. I have a SLR AGB tuned to perfection. Running a Geissele H1 buffer/braided spring combo. Only thing I can think of is to add weight to my buffer...
Super helpful and makes sense. Def looks difficult even with the barrel threaded on the extension but doable with the barrel removed from the receiver. Thank you!
OK that makes sense. I'm building a AR-10 in 6.5CM right now and thinking about switching up some components based on this thread. My GAP-10 in 6.5cm beats up brass and leaves those marks on the cases. I'd like to mitigate as much of that as possible on this new build. If anyone is...
I found this post super interesting. Curious, where exactly are you polishing on the barrel extension? I get those marks on my brass too and would love to mitigate it. Also, if you run a heavy JP SCS to slow down the action, Would you want to run a a JP VMOS to slow the bolt movement even...
Just finished up this build. Still a few things left. Going to change to a Noveske rail, coat the barrel black and changing cans. Having the Omega 300 cerakoted coated black. Haven't shot yet but soon. Big block, Ascend Armory ambi receiver set Geissele SD-E 15" Spikes rail, (new for sale...
