Could anybody measure front of chassis? Thickness of material, and inside height. Wondering if there is enough material to drill through and attach a spigot in front for bipod. Think Versapod style spigot.

Yes. But they went from M40A3/5 with 25’’ to M40A6/7 with 20’’. The XM-3 was dead at arrival it seems. Its 18.5’’ barrel showed it had lethality at some range.. But they wanted a more compact (folding buttstock) rifle and accepted a 20’’ barrel as sufficient for the ranges their snipers...

I might have skipped over this history, but why did USMC go from a 25’’ to 20’’ barrel? What was their explanation ? Do they now feel like short barrel and long suppressor is better/easier to use in field?

I have two Thumbhole stocks that are very comfortable… but they have a lower comb then I like. So I need a stockpad. Any suggestions for stockpads that would work for a non regular stock?

SuperVarmimt and Tac1 and Artic all come with two stage triggers, with button to unload while on safe. You can also buy this trigger on its own. Or you can screw in Sako TRG trigger. Since its basically a TRG lite action.

Does anybody have Grip Height measurments of your McMillan A series or competiton style stocks? I am interested in any stocks with longer then the A-3… Wondering about A-4, A-5, A-6, A-5 Supermag, A6-7 Supermag, U-1, U10 etc etc… XIT stock, Anschutz Silhouette? This is an A-3. Difficult to see...

I would say 1% of 1% of hunters are doing any turret twisting or need High BC to shoot small deer. Most are more concerned about ammunition cost and getting cheaper scope rings. Not to mention a new T3x SS Lite now costs $2100 in my country… next door neighbour to Finland. How much in the States?

If one is going to spend money on a Custom action, buy a real custom.. not a Rem 700 clone and attach things to it with tiny screws. If not, rather get a sporterized Sako TRG-22 action.. also known as Tikka T3. Which is equal to and better then most other Custom Rem 700 clones, except those...

If you are going the custom action route, it SHOULD have: Integral Recoil lug Integral Rail or bases Integral bolt handle If not, there are better choices out there..

My first rifle was a Howa SS 30-06 in a McMillan stock. Now I own 3 Tikkas.. in McMillan stocks. IF the Howa had come with integral mounts machined into action and a little prettier bottom metal release, nearly all my rifles would be a Howas! Their "bones" are great... It just misses on those...

I had a 6,5x55 Tikka Varmint... and did not like the heavy barrel and sold it. Now I have an 223 Lite in a McMillan A-3. Over on Rockslide, they are showing off 10 round fast shot groups, with Tikka Lite barrels, that stay under 1" at 100 yards. Tikka have good barrels.. same as Sako.
