I honestly have never chased any more velocity as it shot SO well and the match limit was 3100 anyway. I do believe it will go faster but I dont really need more.

I shoot a 280AI with 180 Bergers and its very good...about 3000 with 27" 9 twist barrel. 168s will touch 3100...and the gun shoots lights out.

Do you know how much brass you have? Also do you have any idea how much the stock weights? Is it the lite weight version? Thanks

I guess this post got missed, I know I just found it myself....but I cant let this post go with accknoledgement....so thanks to everyone that put on yet ANOTHER great match. I shot my 280 at ASC again this past weekend, again it did well....and made first round hits at a mile and 3 out of 4 follow up shots.

The 280 is a great round, not sure where you heard it wasnt. The 280AI is even better...but not by much. It DOES do well with the correct barrel twist and bullet. I have a good bit of experience with 280s. I shot mine in the ASC match this past spring.

I was shooting a custom 700 280AI.. A few other guys were shooting 7WSMs or a version of and a few 260s I believe.

Both Brown & Sharpe and Interapid are made by Tesa as well as a few others and I've seen them with either name...cant speak to th part number though.

I'm looking into an SBR and I want a can on it. I'd like to get as close to 10 1/2 inches without eating up the can. I know erosion from pressure can be an issue in short barrels. Anyone have experience with SBRs and cans? Some may hold up better. Which ones? Also I want it light weight. No YHM...
