Rifle Scopes Needing a short-mid range hunting optic for 308 semi

What about the Trijicon Credo 2-10x36? Should be pretty tough, have good glass, good reticle for getting out to 600, illuminated, 2x on the low end for close hunting shots. About $900. Also tough to beat the NF NXS 2.5-10x42, but its SFP I believe and its pretty expensive.

Rifle Scopes New Bushnell Elite LRHS2

Might just be a difference in scales then. I didn't measure that close, just sat them side by side. And yes on the throw lever, it's really nice.

Rifle Scopes New Bushnell Elite LRHS2

I should also add that I weighed both models. The old LRHSi was 28 oz and the new LRHS2 was 27.5 oz. So basically identical. The body/size of the scope is the same as the old one as well. Only difference from my old one is no illumination knob on the left and then the new one has the...

Rifle Scopes New Bushnell Elite LRHS2

I just got mine and got it mounted up. I'm only 2.5 hours from KC-MO, so it came really fast. Just looking out the window, it definitely seems to have better glass than the 4.5-18-44x LRHSi that it is replacing. The only negative is that I am losing the illumination by going to the new...

Hunting & Fishing No love for the 6.8 SPC for hunting?

I'm a big 6.8 fan. 14.5" with a 3-9 Accupoint is excellent for deer under 300 yards. Extremely light and handy and a lot more punch than 5.56. Lots of good bullet options, Barnes TTSX, Accubonds, or Gold Dots. Not sure how you beat that.

    168 gr range

Strictly for fun on steel, no hunting. I would be in the 2500-2600 ballpark too.

    168 gr range

Just curious what my max range would be for a 168 gr SMK out of a 20" .308 barrel. Just ballpark, doesn't have to be extremely specific. I keep reading that 175's do much better at distance, but I am heavily invested in 168's at the moment. I'm at 1000 feet. I know temp and humidity will...

    R700 .223 load, 1/9 twist

I've been trying to find lengths of several of these bullets. So far I have: Nosler RDF 70 .965" MatchKing 69 .90" MatchKing 70 .985" Berger Target 73 .97" It's hard to find the lengths for Hornady stuff, but it seems like the 68s would have a...

    R700 .223 load, 1/9 twist

I have had great luck with Nosler CC 52s for 200 and under. I am just hoping to find something that will be consistent at 500-600. Sounds like 69 SMK/Nosler CC will be my best bet. Thanks everyone.

    R700 .223 load, 1/9 twist

Hey guys, I'm getting a new R700 Gen 1 5R soon in .223, so 1/9 twist. It will mostly be a trainer rifle to my .308. My range goes to 600, so it will be shot from 100-600 yards. A lot. I've loaded .223 for a long time for my AR's, but they are all 1/7 or 1/8 twist. What bullet do you think...
