So am using Seekins med .87 rings and have around a 1/4" or so of room between scope bell and barrel. Should be more than enough room left should I switch to the low .82 rings. Realize that its a minor height difference so should I switch to the lower rings?

The bdl bottom metal on my 700 AAC-SD 308 seems a bit flimsy. So what options are there as far as a drop-in replacement? Not looking for a detachable mag, just a better built bottom metal.
