What was your biggest “aha!” Moment as a beginner?

Getting a little frustrated with my shooting. Trying to get through load development but having a hard time trusting my own shooting. I’ve shot .5 inch groups followed by 1.5 inch groups and vice versa with the same ammo. Figured it would be...

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

Seems that you take exception to the fact that a Harris doesn’t have the issue that is apparently unavoidable with the atlas.

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

Because it’s so much more amusing to “stand by my convictions” and keep defending my statements against the fine folks line yourself who, instead of addressing the issues I laid out, want me to just go away so you can get back harassing those who disagree with you. (y)

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

@Dthomas3523 makes sense to me. The Harris most certainly can’t compete with the leg position versatility of an atlas. Thanks for clarifying.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Yea. You make my point for me sir.

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

I appreciate the logical reply. Some folks like @diverdon have difficultly summoning the vocabulary to create coherent and useful thoughts. I suppose there’s some merrit to what they say about divers losing their marbles pretty early in life. Anyhow. I’ve seen it said a couple times in this...

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

OP clearly stated he hadn’t fired the rifle with the bipod. How do you know he ever even mounted it to a rifle?

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

The OP did eventually cave and apologize. For some reason. Any other product that doesn’t deliver what is expected is subject to the internet complaint department. Gun forums are fantastic about this. They hold the supporting industry to a very high standard. Good products are put on a pedestal...

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

Aaah so I suppose new folks get shoved into the hole of shame with those who have to save for things and those who are disappointed in your super most favoritest product? I had really thought highly of the people and info here until this thread.

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

Jesus. I shall be neither doing business with Atlas nor further participating in this form. Really? The dude buys what’s touted as the latest greatest water walking penis enlarging two legged rifle rest on the market, and is disappointed that it’s about as solid as a sack of kittens. Then...

Barrel condition when next range trip is unknown?

Thanks. I’m in south Louisiana. So yea. A little humid. I use a mobile 1 synthetic motor oil (I’ve never had an issue with it. Seems to work). The stuff is thick. In my experience it doesn’t take much oil to keep rust off of things.... I work with steel tools in salt environments which I know...

Barrel condition when next range trip is unknown?

Couldn’t figure out a better way to word the title. I work for an oilfield service company and I’m on call 24/7. Thanks to this my next range trip may be tomorrow or it may be 3 months from now. How would you guys maintain your barrels in this sittuation? As of right now, after a range trip...

Sidearms & Scatterguns S&W gripe and vent...

Oh I did. This one, the one on THR, BCUSA, and a couple Facebook groups. I hate to be “that guy” but this is getting rediculous.

Sidearms & Scatterguns S&W gripe and vent...

So. Smith and Wesson. Never again. Back before Christmas I bought a 686 pro series, 5 inch 7shot 357 mag cut for moon clips. Sexy wheel gun. First trip to the range it wouldn’t detonate CCI primers. Which is cool. I know that’s a known issue sometimes. Get the gun home and start cleaning it...

Reasonably priced rifle case, shooting mat?

Thanks guys. Rifle is 44 inches over all.

Reasonably priced rifle case, shooting mat?

Work is keeping me from actually shooting, so I’m just working on ordering the stuff I think I need. Once the bipod gets delivered and mounted, my Bergara is no longer going to fit in the hunting rifle case I’ve been stuffing it into. Also, once the bipod shows, I’ll start going prone and...

What was your biggest “aha!” Moment as a beginner?

“I think about being a Brisket when I get behind the rifle”. This made my day for some reason. :ROFLMAO: I totally get what you’re saying though and it’s something I’m fighting with reminding myself to do. As someone with handwriting apparently comparable to yours, this is great! I’ve been...

What was your biggest “aha!” Moment as a beginner?

Getting a little frustrated with my shooting. Trying to get through load development but having a hard time trusting my own shooting. I’ve shot .5 inch groups followed by 1.5 inch groups and vice versa with the same ammo. Figured it would be interesting if the more experienced guys share...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Small fixed blade knife for everyday use/carry

I do/have done this a couple of ways. Local laws are a concern of course. Here pretty much anything goes. I’m into bushcraft and fell in love with Mora knives and Scandinavia style dangler sheaths. Did that every day for a while. Currently I carry an Openel no8 folder in my pocket (these...

Neck sizing bushings: supposed to “float”?

Whidden dies don’t ship with bushings and their website/literature says to use Redding/Wilson bushings. I’ll just shoot them an email to make sure everything is right.
