Damn. I just bought the 6-36 on sale with a P5 reticle. This tree reticle makes more sense, but I agree with others that S&B just needed their GRID reticle trimmed a bit, that’s all. For my purposes though, I don’t have a range where I would benefit from a tree reticle.
The 2-10 ZCO would make better sense to me if it were a 2-12 with a 6x erector, maybe slightly larger objective given the weight. Again, maybe this was meant for a military contract, as many pointed out.
So it's a 2-10x, not 1-10x? Imagine a 1-10x with adjustable parallax. Would be the ultimate AR-10 scope. Edited to add: I am not knocking ZCO, but if they were going with a 2-10x form, why not just do a 6x erector tube and make it a 2-12x scope?
Thank you for your review and testing. This definitely makes me happy about my purchase, although I lack a long range where I can utilize the scope beyond 300-600 yards.
I got mine yesterday. It will be a month before I can mount and shoot it due to work. On 6x, the reticle is still very usable. This scope can truly be used 6-36, just by my judgment from casually looking out the window with it. I bought the P5 reticle to keep it simple since all of the ranges I...
I ordered the 6-36 with DTII+ MTC turrets. Hopefully they work, but I doubt it will be in the mud much. It’ll be a month before I get to the range. I will post a review then.
thanks for the replies. I think the P5 reticle will be fine for me now because the longest range I have access too is < 200-300 yards. Hopefully some day I will have a reason to buy a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle and learn how to shoot beyond 600 yards. I really love my short dot dual. Hence, the...
I like my SKMR3 but think the Tremor reticles are way too busy. This will be on a .308 20” barreled Tikka in a KRG chassis. With a 20 MOA mount, it should suit my needs well. Why so much mag? My eyes suck plain and simple and I prefer Euro glass with an easy to adjust diopter.
Any updates? I think I am going to buy a P5 reticle model before the prices go up. I can only shoot out to 600 yards anyway at my range. It is for a .308 bolt gun.
Thanks for the tip! I bought the expensive shark fin and was not impressed. I will order one and try it out. It looks like it is made out of the same material as their scope caps, but which is a good thing.
Looks really nice. Thank you for pictures. I think the reticle design looks nice to me. I'm not sure why people complain about the Vortex Gen 3 reticle design. If the eye box is tight for this optic, given its shorter length, that is a no can do for me with my crap eyes and eye...
I would have purchased a 6-36 by now if it had that reticle. Just a SKMR 3 type reticle is all they need. Think a S&B version of the Leupold PR-2. All the benefits without the clutter.
I think Ilya cannot reveal much yet. I like my short dot dual thus far, and I am very happy that I purchased one despite the price. My S&B short dot dual has great glass, no distortion up close and far away, easy to use adjustments, and the footprint is frankly not that bad compared to other...
