1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Going mtu or similar would help with balance and handling.
Go 1.25 for 5" then taper to 1". Like a proof comp contour. Still very rigid and darn heavy.
I agree, more blast and recoil is true as well as worse es/sd. Plenty of big name factory and custom guns are putting in work while not burning 100% in the barrel. The owners of said rifles could care less 2 or 5% escaped.
You DO gain velocity running a 6creed vs a 6BR at 16". At 400yd the...
All great choices for what you are doing. Flip a coin
Chop and thread the 243 if it has life left in it. I love my light short 243, all the heavy 26"ers stay at the bench.
I could build something similar myself, there are enough systems out there to cobble something together....but I haven't in the last 4 months of owning the scale.
Sooo I'll keep watching
I have a 300nm prefit from xcaliber(not carbon), its a shooter. I went 10 tw 5r, 26", 7 contour. All I've put through it after fireforming is 225 eldm.
I would try a different bullets like the 215 and 245 berger. You'll know in 5 shots if its worth chasing. Some barrels are duds.
I would go 22 arc, grendel, ppc.... better boltface options down the road than the Valkyrie. 22br would work also, but brass is very expensive compared to free .223 on the ground.
Anyone who enjoys shooting should have a 223 bolt gun. Start there.
