    NRL22 Hunter style matches?

Yeah can't always just hold on the edge of the plate out here. Plus a stout wind will blow you around more than the bullet. After I went to my first centerfire NRL Hunter match, I have been all for encouraging them here. There will be more popping up around here now that the head of the...

    NRL22 Hunter style matches?

Its back to back with a NRL22X match on Saturday and the hunter match on Sunday. I actually drew up the targets and they are all North American animals, not just boring old squares and circles.

CA Ranger - I might just do it.

The bolt handle threads right into the bolt. Only guy in our NRL22 local league had it snap off in his hand just running the bolt.

Better youth 22 than CZ 457 scout?

We just got a CZ457 Scout for my 7 year old this summer and it fits pretty well. The familiarity will be welcome when we move them up to a full size CZ457.

Your reason to camo your rifle...or not?

I'm the same way with the HNT26. I got the green cerakote one so it just needs a little sponge work to spice it up a bit. Might be a little easier after a few scratches this hunting season.

    Best rimfire PRS scope

I just switched from a Cronus to a Zeiss S3 4-25 for NRL22 and I love it. Don't feel like I gave up anything because I never used that top 4x mag and it is easier to get behind. Also, the Zeiss has almost zero scope showing around it when looking with both eyes open. Seems like it makes it...

Tripod shopping, what to look for in a shooting tripod?

My hunting partner got the SA-324C for range use, but still light enough he would take it hunting. I think it's a good compromise.

Tripod shopping, what to look for in a shooting tripod?

Yes and no. The one I linked is a step up in leg size, less sections, so should be more stable. And it is. I have tried both side by side and the 40mm leg makes a huge difference. Also it includes a pretty good head to start with in that $500 price.

Tripod shopping, what to look for in a shooting tripod?

There is a difference in stability by spreading out the tops of the legs and making the apex of the tripod higher. I've got the SA-403C, sold the leofoto MA-30L head and bought a RRS Anvil to go in it's place. eBay link sa-403

Tripod shopping, what to look for in a shooting tripod?

The leofoto SA series, specifically the SA-364 with the MA-30L head(closest ripoff to the RRS Anvil) is really hard to go wrong with. eBay is the cheapest place I've seen them, but I haven't heard of the PRS discount.
