    Army M24 Build Thread

Well never say never and as I have said it has been a long time since I was out at R19. That said I would ask what students are using the rifle/s? The guys from Group and the 75th traditionally bring their issued rifles (perhaps this has changed). Also this rifle is nothing like anything they...

Its not that I like or don't like the rifle, its the story that went with it that I think is BS. I have no doubt that the rifle is a laser beam, there are thousands of R700 based rifles that are. I haven't talked to Rng 19 recently but I doubt they still have any SR25s, M110s sure, perhaps...

Man you really got me on that, I just found that flash picture online and thought it looked cool so I used it... I will admit that I mistakenly wrote "tier" instead of "level", my bad on that. I will also admit that I don't "know everything" but I am more than familiar with the history and...

Not sure where this information is coming from but I do not believe it to be accurate. That was not a rifle Remington built, perhaps the AMU did but they built all sorts of science experiments. By the time we (Remington) were affiliated/owned AAC were long past using the AICS 2.0 chassis. The...

    Remington PSR / Need Help??

As it relates to the MSR it somewhat depends on the vintage, the very early ones had a wide variety of differences such as different bolt bodies and housings. Also the colors did change because we were trying to get to 0113 (I think it was) but we had a lot of issues with anodizing and coatings...

We had KN200 and KN250's during that period which were far superior to the PVS-10. The OSTI UNS most definitely was a huge leap forward in operation weapons mounted NVGs especially for sniper rifles. While the PVS-10 did exist it was untrustworthy and generally useless so much so that at the...

Pictures of what? I am pretty sure there are a lot of pictures of the A2 online already, I don't think I could add much.

Those things SUCKED when new... horrible piece of kit. Didn't work as a day or night optic worth a crap.

You know the funny thing about those flash hiders is that when we got them no one knew what they were because they came through the supply channel long after the guns were issued. It took some time and then someone figured it out. I ran all of our sniper training and was running a course and...

    Interesting M25 Info and Pics

The M3A was/is a very good optic overall, in all the years of shooting them I only saw a handful ever fail in any way. In one case in the mid 90's we had one that the glass on which the reticle was etched came loose and rotated inside the scope. I did see a few that the elevation turret became...

    Interesting M25 Info and Pics

From what I can tell about everything known about these rifles is pretty much listed/posted on this thread. We (in 1st SFG) looked at developing some back in the early 90's but it never came to fruition. I called out to the 10th and talked to some guys there about them as well back then but the...

Those swivels certainly could have been in a D kit but they were not the standard, swivels were something that we sourced from a variety of vendors and while most were very similar I have no doubt that those got in there.

Ok. the only production M24's with a DBL was the A2 and A3. The aftermarket makes all sorts of things that can be put onto the rifle and users bought a lot of, but that certainly doesn't make it a variant.

A lot to unpack here. 1. You are correct with reference to parts differences throughout the M24 production, typically it was something when Redfield closed shop and their iron sights were no longer available so the OK Weber sights were selected (actually they are RPA Tracker sights made in...

First things first, all M24's are the same regardless of who purchased it. The contract rifles as a lot underwent some testing; meaning that 1 or 2 rifles would be take from the population and tested usually for endurance (all were proof and accuracy tested). So, there is really no such thing as...

    Army M24 Build Thread

You can build a M24 (ish) rifle that will shoot just as good (perhaps better) for less money. People are paying for the "M24" markings that have nothing to do with performance. This is a result of people wanting an "investment" and hoping that the rifle will be worth money down the road. The...

I don't think I ever saw one of those. We did have the PAS-13 which was a POS and we seldom used them.
