Pat, I ordered the 130 JLKs in November and that was during there run on the 130 JLKs. Swampy said all orders would filled but would have few left. I received them right before Christmas. I should of bought more. Swampy told me he would do another run early in the year and to test them...
6.5 SAUM "Crusader" Missouri Rifle Season/2013: Slow season not a lot of deer to choose from. I did manage to get my kids all bucks, but was tough... 2 of my 3 kids used the 6.5 SAUM "Crusader" to take bucks. My 12 year old, she took a forkhorn at 205 yds with 130 VLD "unpointed" high...
Your Welcome Nick. I loaded up 10 140 VLDs with 5 WLRM and 5 BR2 primers. I loaded to George's length of 2.900. I also had the Chrony on them but having issues with the sun and chrony. First couple of readings was 3072/3080 fps and the rest was skewed by over 200 fps-all over the place...
Nick, I load the 140 VLDs. I also use the Hornady #5-26 insert. 2.945 COAL with the 140 VLDs is in the lans hard. I initially started there and it did not take long to figure out that figure came from the 140 Hybrid. I run the 140 VLDs at 2.905 & 2.910. To me-the 2.905 is sitting right...
Thanks Pat. From my lessons learned with the 260 and 140 VLD. It liked to be pushed hard and you could only push them so hard in a 260. I thought maybe the 6.5 SAUM would give the 140 VLD a slight advantage. My 6.5 SAUM Crusader seems to like them all so far as well. Good problem to have...
Pat, Being a 6.5 fan myself, I have viewed your post over the years. It would seem you have backed away from the 140 class of bullets to the 130s in your 260 and maybe your 6.5 SAUM. I just recently rechambered my 260 Crusader to 6.5 SAUM. My 260 had always shot the 140 VLDs very well...
