If you are carefull and make the recoil lug a snug fit it will be safe. There are factory rifles out with similar shoulder abutments.

Try Pro Bed 2000 we find it one of the easiest to use. You can get it in a kit to do different amounts of jobs with everything you need. http://www.probed2000.com/ Have also used the others but we use lots of pounds of this.

Hi I have run the 190 matrix at 2980fps in a 32" 9 twist benchmark barrel in a SAUM and using Retumbo pressure was fine you need slow powder and barrel length to make them work.

Look at the 7mm Rem SAUM it has 2" case like the 7mm 08 and is better suited to a short action you call use 300 Rem SAUM cases and just neck them down aswell. It's performance equals the WSM with less powder and a longer neck.
