Gunsmithing Ever have a firing pin tip break on a Rem 700??

No marks on the pin, pretty much a clean break! Yeah I only had this pin around so put it in, but the replacement will be a steel one! Thanks guys for the responses ! Guess if there was a warning not to dry fire, then this could be the reason.. LOL

Gunsmithing Ever have a firing pin tip break on a Rem 700??

Not sure why, but this happened after a few dry fires adjusting a trigger. Just a faulty pin or is something off with the rifle or spring? I believe it is an Aluminum PTG pin. Thoughts? Thanks

    Gunsmithing Remington 700 Follower??

Was wondering what is going on here! The follower on the right is from an older rifle and is missing the "lip" as I call it (looks original). I put a "lipped" one in and the bolt does not drag so to speak against it, like it does without the "lipped" one. My question is what is the better...

    Remigton 700 Followers?

Not sure it works better or not. They seem identical except for the raised lip on the one on the right which seems to keep the bolt from "dragging" on it creating it to "feel" tight and less free

    Remigton 700 Followers?

Ok, so now I ask why?? The older one makes the bolt "harder" (not like its a huge deal, but def feel resistance) to work, that is a good thing I am guessing?? Seems the other one makes the bolt more "free"...

    Remigton 700 Followers?

Ok, I am stupid, but was wondering what is going on here! The follower on the right is from a 1970 rifle and is missing the "lip" as I call it (looks original). I put a "lipped" one in and the bolt does not drag so to speak against it, like it does without the "lipped" one. My question is...
