Is the idea that you're building a lightweight hunting rifle and want to shave off every gram you can? Or, are you concerned that a factory sized lug won't be enough?

Well, a 10/22 is already a tough gun to clamp. A aluminum receiver and a single screw holding it in... something more substantial is bound to help.

I've one of those Holland rifles with the V-block. I don't like how only one screw holds the metal to the stock. Also, while it's free floating the action, you still have the magazine pushing on it... but I admit that's not much. And, if you want to make any changes, you're pretty much well...

Hey Guys, What are your thoughts of recutting the crown of a chrome line barrel? I'm specifically thinking of an AR15 type barrel, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Some guys says your chrome will chip or peel. Other guys say it's just fine. Any practical experience?
