Hunting & Fishing 2013 Mississippi Alligator - Public Water

I went to the mandatory class on Saturday while in MS, and I got some good information. I'm excited about the hunt, and I'll keep everyone updated with pictures. It's nice to be able to do this without all the fees of an outfitter!

Hunting & Fishing 2013 Mississippi Alligator - Public Water

I've got a little single shot 410. Seeing those guys use a .22 on TV, I've got to imagine that is enough.

Hunting & Fishing 2013 Mississippi Alligator - Public Water

Time to head back to my roots. I was born and raised in Mississippi, so I have a lifetime non-resident native son hunting license that pretty much allows me to do anything in the state that a resident can. That includes registering for the public alligator lottery - which I've lost for the...

    Rifle Scopes Lapping rings

Re: Lapping rings I've lapped rings from TPS with great results, but be advised that if you lap rings that are covered by a warranty, you will usually VOID said warranty.

Hunting & Fishing Some hate mail for you killers...

Re: Some hate mail for you killers... What gets me about the anti-hunting movement is that they're typically the same folks that pay double at the grocery store for free-range meat or eggs laid by cage-free chickens. An animal harvested by a licensed hunter for consumption has led a happier...

    Rifle Scopes Leica LRF

Re: Leica LRF I really enjoy my Leica 1200. It will range up close (bow hunting) and very far away (varmint). I have not found a LRF yet that likes the fog, though!

Hunting & Fishing Rattle snake, tis the season!

Re: Rattle snake, tis the season! Rattlesnake performs very well as stew meat. Just throw it in the pot with everything else. Tastes great. +1 on the props for the derringer.

Rifle Scopes Range Finding Bino Comparison

Has anyone come across a formal review/comparison of Zeiss 10x45 Victory RF Binos vs. Leica 10x42 Geovid HD I've borrowed a pair of the Geovids before, and they are absolutely fantastic glass. I currently use the Leica 1200 LRF and a pair of Zeiss 10x32 Victory FL. I'm just interested in...

Suppressors Pro' and con's of suppressors?

Re: Pro' and con's of suppressors? Another con to think about is what you do if you need to sell it. These can sometimes be difficult to unload if you figure out that it doesn't meet your needs. Not always...but it can be tough.

Suppressors looking for a good CC handgun

Re: looking for a good CC handgun As folks have mentioned, it very much depends on your situation. I am a college professor, and it is against the law to carry in the classroom. Hence, bad folks bring guns on college campuses and shoot at targets that can't shoot back. But I digress. For...

    Rifle Scopes USO Spotter Cover??

Re: USO Spotter Cover?? The TAB cover is nice for the USO. The design of the cover was developed after a lot of input from folks on SH. It really protects the spotter very well, although I would have preferred some zippers rather than all the velcro. Just my $0.02.

Rifle Scopes Best Place To Buy Optics

Re: Best Place To Buy Optics I have bought a lot of stuff from Scott at Liberty Optics, Chris at SWFA, USO and others. Folks have really strong opinions about preferences, but all have their plusses and minuses. Right now, I would say that Scott's level of personal service wins out...and...

Suppressors Info on Gemtech Customer Service

Re: Info on Gemtech Customer Service BTW, I took the can to the range on Friday and put it on my AR-10. The consistency was pretty amazing. Better groups with the screw-on than with the QD.

    Suppressors Kahr Reliability

Re: Kahr Reliability I own the PM9 and it performs flawlessly. I owned the P45, and it was a piece of garbage. I sent it back to Kahr 5 TIMES, and they never fixed it. Trust me, this is the "PG" rated version of the story. I was pissed.

Suppressors Info on Gemtech Customer Service

Last year I purchased the 7.62 HVT with the QD mount. After some trouble with it in the field, I gave Gemtech a call to see if they could change the QD mount to a screw-on so I wouldn't have to sell the can and then purchase a new screw-on model and pay the ATF and wait for approval again...
