    Point of Impact Shift Mystery

Johnny - I did leave the box open while firing at 600 yards....but let them cool before heading back to 100 yard for zeroing and still getting the 0.8 mil increase.

    Point of Impact Shift Mystery

Barney88PDC - My McM A5 was fully bedded but most of what I read stated that it is not necessary to bed the AIAX chassis. I have read that some will bed the lug pocket on the chassis. Is this what you're referring to when bedding the chassis. Does a non-bedded chassis cause these...

    Point of Impact Shift Mystery

Zero'd at 74.1 degrees with 70% RH and 76.7 degrees and 64% humidity when shooting. My buddy was shooting along side me and had no POI shift. Still a mystery!

    Point of Impact Shift Mystery

I went shooting today and had a very strange POI shift occur. First, the details: I recently had my Jerod Joplin PAI Rem. 700 .308 removed from the McMillan A5 and installed in a AIAX chassis. The lug was a little long and was bottoming out in the lug pocket on the chassis. I had my local...

Suppressors New 7" and 5" cans from Thunder Beast Arms

Zak, At Shot 2013, I asked about a 300BLK suppressor and you mentioned something was on the way. Looks like this is it. What would be your suggestion (PS or PSS) for a hearing safe in 300BLK supersonic yet uber-quiet 300BLK sub-sonic on an 8" AR upper? I can always mount my 30P1 but would...

    AIAX Chassis Questions????

Trigger Monkey - Thanks for all the help. After a little elbow grease and a set of pliers, I was able to get the bipod locked down. Guess I didn't try hard enough. Bipod is good to go. I loaded the included 5 round mag full of ammo and the 10 round with ammo inserted with the bolt closed and...

    AIAX Chassis Questions????

Thanks for all the replies. Trigger Monkey - I'll have to play with the bipod a little more and may have to live with the loose mag issue. I'll have to see what Jerod comes back with to properly mount the action to the stock. I don't want to mess with the accuracy. If there are no good...

    AIAX Chassis Questions????

Trigger Monkey, The magazine wobble is more of a side to side wobble? They function fine but are annoyingly loose. You're most likely right on having an over sized recoil lug. I've reached out to Jerod at APA to see what it would take to fit the AIAX as I don't want to F@$& up my kick SS...

    AIAX Chassis Questions????

I picked up an AIAX chassis from Mile High Shooting for my Remington 700 built by PAI /APA. It is an amazing set up and pin point accurate. Originally came in a McMillian A5 with Badger M5 bottom metal. I changed to the AIAX chassis cause I wanted a stock with folding capabilities so I could...

Can anyone recommend a smith who can take a factory new Remington 700 short action with .308 bolt face and convert the bolt to accept a Savage floating / interchangeable bolt face(s) in both .223 and .308? Looking to make a rifle with a PacNor Rem. nut and barrels in 300 Whisper or 300 Blackout...

    Correcting Ballistics Table?????

Re: Correcting Ballistics Table????? Billf Very good point. I was using the iPhone Ballistic app to pull the local weather conditions. My zero weather info was 66 degrees F, 44% humidity, 29.06Hg pressure. My firing weather info was 72 degrees F, 53% humidity, 29.26 Hg pressure. The...

    Correcting Ballistics Table?????

Re: Correcting Ballistics Table????? Believe me. I'll take any advice willing to be shared....being a big time newbie. I worked up an accurate load at 100 yards (0.25 group). Did the chrony for a group of over 20 rounds and took the average....2750 fps. Used the Ballistic app on iPhone to...

    Photos First 1,000 Yard Shoot

Finally got a chance to shoot at 1,000 yards. 1,000 yard match at Rivoli Range in New Windsor, IL. Got lots of 9's, 10's, and X's but a few 7's and 8's due to wind conditions. Rifle is from Jered Joplin in .308 with a USO T-PAL optic.

    Correcting Ballistics Table?????

    Bumping the Shoulder???

I'm somewhat new to reloading. I just picked up a Possum Hollow case trimmer in .308 and it states that you must bump the shoulder before trimming. I have Forestner Competition dies with a FL sizer. I set up the dies according to the insructions. How do I know when I properly bumped the...
