Quick question for Badger Thruster or any muzzle brake owners... How do you clean your brake? I've heard that carbon buildup in the brake around the crown will eventually detriment accuracy, so how can this be combated? Or is what i heard just bs? Is there anyway to clean the rifle crown with...
Re: Savage - Accustock vs. HS Precision Perhaps consider selling the Accustock and going the middle road with a Bell n Carlson varmint. Got one on my 20", love the stock, solid feel, didn't break the bank.
Re: Rifle Crown question alright thanks guys, very informative. i wonder why they cut concentric circles into the outer protruding flat area of the crown if it doesn't even matter? sounds like extra labor, might as well just leave it flat and untouched.
Is the crown of the rifle just the recessed part (the deeper set part of the muzzle) or the entire front end of the muzzle? Reason I ask is I think I have a small scratch on the unrecessed flat area of the crown, but the deeper set area is fine. Will that affect accuracy, or is the cronw only...
Looking for a 700SA for a 308 Krieger MTU project I want a gunsmith to build up, but where can I find these actions? Will I need to buy a cheap/beat up 700 and just salvage the action?
Re: Savage 10 FP 20" Tactical .308 I'd be the third owner of the gun. 1st owner said best group he shot was 0.25inches at 100 yards with Winchester off the box ammo, at 500 yards it was about 4 inches. Said he was a novice shooter. 2nd owner shot Winchester white box 308, was shooting about...
Can't wait to shoot this at Angeles on Sunday. We'll see how it does at 600 yards. My second precision rig, first one was a 700PSS but I love this lighter rig more. Only possible upgrade now is a Badger Thruster brake I have in stainless that I'll park or krylon and put it on. Savage 10FP...
I have a Badger Thruster brake I will put on a Savage 10FP Tactical 20". My question is this: The badger thruster is 0.950 diameter, unsure of what my muzzle diameter is (stock barrel), is it possible to turn down the Badger so it sits perfectly flush and in-line with the barrel, thus not...
Hey guys, For those of you who have an Eagle stock, how do you add padding to raise the comb of the stock rest? Can you actually insert foam inside the rest, or do you place it between your rifle and the stock?
Looking to get a muzzle brake for Savage 10FP 20" (also needs threading work). 2 questions: 1. What brake would you recommend? Too many options out there, looking for quality of course and a reasonable price. 2. Who in Socal could I get threading/installation work done by?
Does anyone know what the trigger locktime is on an m1a/m14 2-stage trigger? Of course followthrough is important, I'm just curious. I'm even curious if say the 3ms locktime of a r700 versus a semiauto is something detectable to most shooters (or human reflex).
Since the Garand front sight sits on the gas cylinder, which sometimes has some play, even a slightly loose gas cylinder can move the sights drastically changing your shot impact. My Correct Grade SA 1954 Garand had a bit of play in the front sight and I just peened it. Here is a good how -to...
So I put in an order for 1. Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50 scope 2. Burris Xtreme High 1" rings on my AR, but I realize I actually need to get a forward cantilever mount. Does anyone know the order modification process for SWFA? It says payment pending.
