    Re: Remington 700 5-R .223 Ok, I went and looked at the model 12 LRPV. Two twist rates available: 1:7 or 1:9. 1:7 only in single shot. 1:9 in all multishot model 12s except the 12 VLP. The 12 VLP I could get 1:7 but doesn't have the good stock on it. I will be getting a multishot gun so...

    Remington 700 5-R .223

    I am looking for a new 223 and have been learning about the 5-R rifle from Remington. Is this worth the up cost over the other factory varmint rifles(rem 700 vlss or savage 12 btcss)? Is 5-R rifleing that much better? I will be shooting this out to 600yds.
