Re: low or medium rings for VX-L? well I ended up buying a set of TPS low mount steel rings. should do fine for me. and the people at cabelas customer service said that the VX-L with 56mm will fit on low rings.

Re: ring mounting? I figured this out today. I have to send the SS rings back because they do not have a 2piece picatinny base for the Rem 700. so I am sending them back and think I will go with the TPS rings

Re: shipping an S&B legality? what would be the reasoning for regulating reticles? I mean if someone wanted to be a hit man or think of taking long range hits on someone/something, they could find one in the US/outside US. like someone said, have it fitted with one.
