Re: Clip slotting I'm one of the ones interested in having the clip slots milled in a M700. I am only doing it because I need to use the action as a match rifle. In NRA High Power matches there are two rapid fire courses that require reloading in the middle of the string. Hope this helps.- faraim

Should I get a .243 or a .260?
Re: Should I get a .243 or a .260? I suspect it will be a lightweight sporter if it will be used for hunting. If the deer and distances in TX are like the ones in TN, and MS then I'd go with the .243 and not look back. You can get ammunition from any sporting goods, or hardware store. If...- faraim

Gunsmithing Opening up barrel channel in B&C stock
Well the title says it all. Has any one here done it ? I have a 700 with an M40 profile that is a bit fatter than the Remington Varmint diameter. The price of the B&C Medalist M40 stock is right but I've never ground or cut a fiberglass stock.- faraim
