    I had similar shot placement last night on one at about 250 yards. It dropped, and kept on living somehow for a good 20 minutes until I got to it and realized it was still alive. I was shooting a 243 loaded with 87gr vmax. They’re tough animals.

    Here’s a nice male from last Friday night. He snuck in silent after a couple female howls and some bunny screams. I haven’t been out a ton and we have gotten over 80” of snow this winter, but I’ve managed to put 14 down so far for ‘23. 243 loaded with 87gr Vmax lays them out nicely.

    This sounds great. I need extra height too. How much taller is it with the ball head? I’m 6’2” and am usually using the tripod in snow so it sinks all the way down while I’m a few inches taller. My back really pays by the end of the night scanning with my thermal.
