This may sound like a stupid question but does Shooter recognize below sea level density altitude. The reason for asking is I was out shooting yesterday and my Kestrel showed a DA of in excess of -500 feet. I entered -500 into the DA box but the results were quite a bit off from I Snipe which I...
Just loaded this program on my IPod Touch. Looking at the instructions, it says you can access preferences on the bottom right of the screen. It isn't there. I want to change the distance from yds to meters and use density altitude etc. Am I missing something here.Thx for your help.
Just starting to reload and I know everyone has their preference of brass with Lapua seeming to be the frontrunner. I have been shooting a long time and only used work ammo but now after doing some F Class shoots in the F/TR class I am getting a dedicated rifle and took the plunge to reload. The...
I am new to reloading and was using a Hornady OAL Length gauge in an attempt to find the COAL for my particular rifle. Its a .308 Remington 700 with a Rock Creek barrel andI was trying it several times, practicing in an attempt to get consistent readings. The bullet I was using was a 155 gr...
I am just starting to get into reloading, hopefully for competition shooting (F/TR) down the road.It seems like you ask 5 guys and get 8 opinions. Is there an advantage to just neck sizing with respect to accuracy or does it matter if you just full resize.I know that consistency , bullet seating...
The instructions provide the indicated inch pound torque for the 7/16" hex nuts but for the cap screws they just go into tightening the screws with the provided torx wrench. I like to be a bit more precise and consistent than just doing it by hand. Thx for your help.
Just wondering if anyone knows the recommended torque for these particular scope rings due to the fact that they are aluminum vs steel.Thx for your input.
This may sound like a stupid question.I have a Rem 700 SA with an A5 stock with bottom metal that uses AICS magazines. A friend asked if the magazine would accept 6.5 x 284 rounds and I didn't have an answer for him. Maybe someone can help me out.Thanks.
I have been looking for a diagram indicating the major components/nomenclature of a sniper weapon system, particularly the 700P.I checked online and for some reason they are hard to come by. Does anyone have any references. Thanks
Just wondering what the general consensus in torque (inch lbs) is for tightening scope ring screws. Rings are TPS and scope is NXS 3.5 - 15. I know some don't even bother but I like for them to be as consistent as possible.
I am shooting in a Tactical Rifle competition coming up and one of the crses of fire is prone shooting with a sling only. I haven't shot with sling only in a long time. Any tips, advice with respect to body position, arm position, elbows, sling placement, how tight etc. I know there are alot of...
I tried to do a search regarding this and found nothing. I currently have a Rem 700 with a Rock Creek M24 contour 22 " barrel in an A-5 stock. I have shot an AI AW entensively through work and like the feel of the stock more than the A-5, it seems to fit me better so I am putting an AICS 2.0...
Hope this is not a stupid question but who out there cleans their muzzle brake on a 308.Is it necessary? The reason I ask is that some guys never clean their rifles either or only after hundreds of rounds when they say accuracy declines. Thanks.
I just had a barrel cut from 26 to 20". It is a chrome moly barrel and just want to finish the crown as it is now bare metal. Any suggestions as it is such a small area. I have used duracoat before but for such a small area there has got to be something simpler.Hope this makes sense.
