I mounted a barreled action into it and it went into the safe for about two years. Never been shot, all hardware included, including a short metal Magpul MLOK rail for a bipod. Atlas bipod in picture not included. $325 net to me, shipped. PayPal goods and services only.
Blue box brass, they are all from single lot, twice fired, annealed with a Bench Source after the second firing. Have plenty of life left, 200 are primed with Wolf SRM primers. I'd like $240 shipped for all 300. I take USPS MO, Chase QuickPay, or PayPal F&F Thanks for looking.
Fireforming is not a waste of barrel and bullets if you do it while shooting matches, etc. I shoot F-Open with a .284 Win. based wildcat called a 7mm Walker that is basically a .284 Shehane (another .284 based waildcat) with a 40 degree shoulder. Some of my highest scores were shot while...
This works too, and has the bonus that you don't have to pay for a copy of Parallels Desktop. Moreover, since Windows is running on "bare metal" you will get the most performance out of your hardware (like for games). However, the obvious downside is that the computer runs MacOS OR Windows, but...
You can do it, but you need to run the loader a virtual machine. I described a procedure that worked for me using Windows 7 running in a Parallels Desktop 9 virtual machine in post #29.
I read over on the Mk12 thread on ar15.com that PRI was going to make some more gen 1 or 2 rails for the clone crowd. But don't anyone hold their breath.
To be honest, all anecdotal. When I first switched to stainless media with the squeaky clean necks, my scores seemed to dip a little and it seemed I had a few more unexpected 9s. Once I started using dry neck lube, my scores seemed to go back up to my expectations. Of course, it can be all...
I also clean with stainless steel media. It leaves my case necks too clean, and causes noticeable differences in seating force required to seat a bullet, leading to more fliers than I'd like. I now dip all my case necks in Redding's Imperial dry neck lube. No concerns about it gunking up powder.
I have a 3-9x40 VX-R Patrol. Pros: lightweight, very good glass, how the illumination works Cons: mushy indistinct clicks on the knobs, reticle too thick and too hard to tell between full and half mil markings, center is so thick that it obscures a 1" target dot at 100yds.
Google told me 0.100"-0.105" is supposedly the spec for Mk12 barrels, and that WOA drills them out to .108" (both for 18" barrels with rifle length gas). Must be right because I had a LW Mk12 barrel that short stroked no matter what I did until I drilled out the gas port to spec — the gas port...
Why don't you just order a barrel from High Caliber Sales or Centurion if you're going to build a Mk12? They get it from the same guy who did it for the Mk12 program using the same reamer.
