Australian Army Sniper Rifle Trials (1990's Parker Hale replacement) - The AT1-M24

I believe this is the original model of scope, a clearly inferior optic to the selected S&B PMII 3-12

Australian Army Sniper Rifle Trials (1990's Parker Hale replacement) - The AT1-M24

Preface This rifle came to my attention during a visit to the Army Museum Bandiana, in Victoria Australia. In the small arms section I found this rifle sitting above a Keppler and below a Parker Hale M82. The plaque had limited information on it but enough to get me interested in learning...

    M1917 vs M1903

These 2 were mine: I realise that we are talking 1903 and 1903A3 , however I think still relevant: IMHO; The M1917 has a better front sight width and the fixed front sight protector is better as it can't get lost. The 03 is much handier. The small amount of extra length on the 1917 isn't a...

Cheap scopes Leupold mk4hd vs Nightforce SHV?

The SHV F1 is under rated, but I guess it doesn't have the higher mag and bells and whistles of the newer chinese competition that everyone wants now, it is an older design after all. I've got a fair bit of time on the SHV F1. The main limitation in my opinion is the FOV. It's quite noticeably...

    Proportionate scope rings

After I had a cheap rail come loose mid match (sheared screw) , I won’t use any base without a recoil lug or pin. Rings or one piece mounts I go for something with machined in recoil lugs for the same reason . With that in mind , I have found the Nightforce Ultramount to be a great balance of...

Rifle Scopes Any experience Sig Tango DMR 3-18x44?

Thanks for those replies . As far as quality of controls and glass, to a lesser extent, where does it fit ? Comparable to a Vortex PST or a Razor for example

    NX8 or Mk5? or?

Nightforce is Australian owned and this model made in Japan so not sure what's American about that. Not saying any of those are bad things, but the leupold is more American if that is a real factor in your choice.

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

I have quite a bit of this stuff, also shoots very well in the SSG69 , trajectory matched the BDC markings on the Tasco 6X44 Sniper Scope also.

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

that's not an M82 stock . barrel profile certainly isn't a M82 either, Bolt handle has been modified as well as a bolt knob fitted. Not much on it that says M82 to me . Maybe the action? it does appear to have the safety in the correct location for a PH of any 1200 series

    MOA with Mosin Nagants?

With decent reloads both of the PU's i've had were moa shooters. They can be a challenge to shoot well though , the trigger is probably the the main factor there. I replaced my sears with Finnish ones and it made a world of difference. Here is some groups from 100m. Mix of reloads and 180 grain...

Looking to build a pem sniper mosin

Red Star scopes are absolute junk. Numerous documented issues all over the internet. Both of mine had faulty turrets, the finish was rubbed off with a fingernail . not worth it. They are display pieces or paperweights only, The mounts are much better, screw heads strip out with no effort.
