New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Not many people out thee don't shoot better with less recoil.
I've tested most of the best and on a 300wm or similar and there are not any that I've found that reduce more recoil.
Dink bull shooting position, where he died (just above the tree in the center of the picture), my youngest with the rack, and the fox that paid the price.
It's been a pretty good elk year so far. I shot the bigger bull 3 weeks or so ago on a draw tag and the dink 5 point on my non-resident tag a little over a week ago. I also shot the fox when I caught him coming back for more meat after stealing the tenderloins overnight. The big bull was 200yds...
I drew a muzzleloader antelope tag here in ID and shot this guy this morning. I got into about 40yds at one point and ended up shooting him at about 50yds.
I've watched my dad kill 4 elk in the last 3 years with them in his Creedmoor. 3 were bang flop and the 4th stood for a few seconds before going down. The closest was 150yds and the furthest was 400.
I drew a good bull elk and a buck antelope tag in ID plus a muzzleloader deer and cow elk tag in UT. I will also buy a non-resident elk and possibly a deer tag here in ID. We are headed to Kodiak Island on Aug 15th for deer and caribou also. That's 8-9 tags and a busy season.
