with savage target actions can you order those in whatever caliber you want? im looking to get an action for a 338 rum and i didnt know if they would have that calibre or not.

i was thinking of building a 338 rum savage i was wondering what potential weak points i might have to worry about in modifying a savage long action for this purpose. this would be my first build of this type.
i was looking at target actions on the savage web sit the other day and noticed that most came in either a .223 or "standard bolt head". what do they mean by standard bolt head exactly? is it any other standard cartidge sizes offered by savage or what?
is there any way to lower the resonance frequency of a long barrel? ive got a 30" stainless barrel that im looking to improve on. the only thing ive seen is a rubber slip on thing that doesnt look like it actually does anything.
is there any reloading software out there i can use to work up loads. something that goes off of burn rates barrel lengths and bullet weight. im looking to optimise loads for my 300 win mag but im having a problem coming up with base loads to test from. i thought some software might help
can anyone tell me if theres any difference between the barrel diameter of a savage 7mm rem mag and the 300 rem mag i was thinking that since they both use the same casing it might be possible to use my 116 7mm receiver and switch barrels to make it a 300 but i dont know if the 300 will thread in.
hey i just built a 7mm rem mag with a thirty inch barrel that will be pushing 180 gr berger vlds for target shooting. im looking for a good reloading formula to get some good extreme range loads target loads out of this (1200+ yards) anybody got any ideas?
