I still enjoy mine. Bought it through the classifieds here many years ago. Have two actions still waiting to do something with that I picked up when Winchester shut down New Haven. My only complaint is I always seem to be broke when a bunch of stocks hit the market.
I can't have any normal, so mine is a 7x61 S&H. Which is a few years older and a few grains smaller. I like it, just don't have opportunity to shoot it very often.
I wish the action was a little lighter, but I'm a fan. I've had at least a dozen over the years. Still have quite a few and a couple SPR actions waiting to become something. Wish I'd bought a few more when CDNN was selling them.
There is a part of me that is waiting for the 3rd Hobbit movie to reach DVD. Yes, I know it will be awhile. But then, with all the extended versions, I can enjoy almost 24 hours of Tolkien goodness.
The pre-64 only came in one size and was chambered for everything from 22Hornet - 458WM. Everything you have mentioned will fit with ease. My guess is the challenge will be putting together the correct mag box, spacer, and follower. I don't know that the 6.5x55 would be my first choice, but...
