    I’d go with a Nightforce NX8 4-32 for that 7PRC as they have good glass and great durability/tracking. It would serve you well in that hunt. I also have a Steiner H6xi and it’s great, but for longer range, I’d choose the NX8

    I store mine uncocked/dry fired before it goes in the safe. My thought is why have any pressure on the spring, and modern rifles can certainly handle a single dry fire after every shooting session before storage.

    I do this two part method: 1. Arisaka leveling kit to mount the scope. 2. Plumb Bob line to set my scope tube mounted bubble level. Done and done.

    Remington 9 1/2 standard vs magnum

    I’ve used the standard in some 6.5 cm loadings and they performed excellent. I use the magnums for my 7 PRC.

    I’d advise using a file. You could easily use a dremel if you’re relatively versed with one, just go nice and slow.

    Zeiss LRP S3 for the win IMO. I own one and think it checks about all those boxes (the top turret is a bit proud).

    I shoot for the same. My 6.5CM is right at 10 and my 7PRC is a few ounces above 11. I just prefer them at those weights. Much more shootable, and don’t impact carrying for me.
