For those who fuss with minor OAL and think seating depth really matters .... What's your measured throat erosion rate? Most of mine average between .003"-.005" per 100 rds. Suppose you shoot a 200 round match, what happens to your load? I used to chase the lands as the throat eroded...
There were a few changes over the years..... post a picture, it will help. Not a lot of material differences, mainly shaving off a few ounces, addition of the nose art, Arca rails, bag rider etc, rails..... functionally they remained the same.
You're there, well within tolerance IMO...,. I prime, mandrel and seat bullets for my P.R. ammo on a Dillon 1050 and can have up to +\-.005" variation. I can't see any practical difference on performance and the reduction in time is significant!
Yes, I spoke with them at length at SCI last year..... they put me in touch with a guy named Jason Baney who was supposedly their lead rep.....basically was told I was out of luck. I originally bought them from Euro Optics.
Any chance you could help me with getting some repair work on PLRF15? I'm happy to pay for repairs, best LRF I've ever had but I've not had any luck getting a quote for repair.
Swarovorski will warranty their range finding binoculars for ever, Sig and Leica will as well...... as for Vectronix, I've got a PLRF 15 I'll send you to see if you can get them to repair it. Simple drop from my tripod broke the crystal loose and even though they service military units and...
I wonder what their warranty policy will be like? I swore off Vectronix when i needed some work on an PLRF15. Hell of a range finder but if you actually use them in the field and happen drop them you'll wind up with a $3500 brick! Ask me how I know.......
I recently tried to contact Jewell triggers myself and have been unable to get ahold of them ..... the last one I had rebuilt must have been right towards the end! I've also heard they are out of business and I can not find one anywhere for a new build so I went with another trigger...
As your wet tumbling, this is the most likely cause, even without the pins the mouths will peen and cause the chambering issue issue your experiencing. Lots of folks confuse it with a sizing issue but it's not. The simple solution is to insert a trim/debur step right before loading and you'll...
Wet tumbling with stainless steel pins is the most likely cause...... I've seen this numerous times. Cut down your wet tumbling time and chamfer/debur every time and you'll reduce your issues.
Agreed, I'm a NM resident and just joined in support of the plaintiffs lawsuit filed in the case..... gave them both a one time and monthly subscription. I also contacted NRA-ILA asking what their litigation plans were...... I'll let everyone now what they say.
I get that's it's clearly an artifact left from the case forming process...... it obviously did not blow up and I'm not freaking out over this, just wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like it? I weighed the individual piece, what's was left of the cut open piece and a similar once...
I've been loading a long time and never seen anything like this.... once fired new Hornady brass in my 28 Nosler hunting rifle. I went to process the brass and felt/heard a clunking sound in the case. The video explains the rest..... anyone ever seen anything like this? I checked the rest of...
6 groove barrel? Cut or button rifled? Not sure what a smith can do to "fix" anything...... if you're worried about the cut marks remember they are magnified by your bore scope...... best way to smooth them out is to just shoot it, they'll be gone in a couple hundred rounds.
I've had them rebuilt numerous times..... last one was dropped while out of the stock and broken clean off..... they are real quick and very reasonable!
I appreciate this old thread and contact info......I need to get a PLRF 15 repaired ( expecting to pay) and hopeful that I can get in contact with the right folks. Wish me luck!
Unfortunately I find myself in a similar situation...... dropped my 15's and need them serviced as something is rattling around inside.... I'm happy to pay for repair. Did you ever find any resolution?
