    Re: 1st time out with new rifle. The rifle may have a really tight chamber. Try some different brass before you junk your chrono. My GAP .308 shoots in the 2690's with 44g. varget,fed match primers,175g. SMK's and black hills brass.

    Re: Smokeless load for a 45-120 I have a 45-110 sharps and shoot black powder as this is how it was intended to be used. I have tried different replicas but with no better results but never smokeless. I have always heard 30,000 psi is the number to stay under. I dont have any recipes however...

    Re: 300 ultra mag data? I have a factory stock Rem 700 BDL .300 RUM with a custom muzzle brake. After aprox. 500 rounds down range I found a very accurate load. I was looking for accuracy not absolute max speed. The best I came up with is Fed match primers, 200gr.nosler partition, 89gr...
