That's a good possibility. He has a 24" match Black Hole Weaponry barrel. I picked up the 18" DPMS mini SASS barrel from Midway. Either way, I can't wait to see how they shoot!!!
Re: Any leads on AR15 barrels? I was lucky enough to snag a DPMS mini SASS barrel from midwayUSA a couple days before xmas. Now they are sold out with NO BACKORDER.
Re: Any leads on AR15 barrels? Thanks for the links. I am leaning towards the Black Hole barrels. Dad is pretty picky and wants the bull barrel (varmint type rig). I think I can handle a 6-12 week wait.
I started building two ARs before all the nonsense started and instead of being irresponsible with my money, I decided to take my time and order pieces when I had the extra money. Well thanks to some fucking nutjob, AR parts are few and far between. One is for myself and the other is for my dad...
Re: Double Star?? Stag makes a dedicated 3 gun rifle that works great as a varmint gun as well. If you can get your hands on one, definitely the way to go. A buddy of mine has one and he loves it. I'll dig up some specs for you.

Re: Proud New Owner..... Gonna throw the Vortex Viper on it tonight and take it to the range on my day off tomorrow and see how it does with a box of HSM match 7.62 w/168gr A-max. I'll post back tomorrow and let you know how it did.

Re: Proud New Owner..... Thanks for the load ideas. I have a SHITLOAD of Nosler 168 CC pills I was using in my LTR .308 until I switched to the 155 A-Max. I'll start around 44.5 of Varget and work up.
Re: Proud New Owner..... Thanks fellas...I really wish they made these in .260. But the .308 will do just fine. Now I'm waiting patiently for my Falcon 4-14x44 ML16.
Of a Remington R-25 .308. Picked it up at a local shop for $1299. Other shops in the area wanted $1400+ I handload so if anyone has some good loads using 168gr BTHP send them my way please.
Re: SIgh - old eyes problem I feel your pain. I'm only 32 and my vision is horrible. I have "floaters" real bad. I'm to the point where I don't even enjoy shooting anymore. And the worst part about it is there is nothing that can be done to fix the problem. I can get contacts or glasses to...
Re: Going rate for cerakote Thanks for the link. I may be contacting one these fine gentlemen to cerakote my barreled action for me. I may even try Aluma-Hyde II. It's a bench gun so it basically just needs to stand up to harsh bore cleaners.
Re: Going rate for cerakote How well does cerakoting stand up to cleaners? I spent hours on my Savage .260 barreled action and when I put some Hoppes #9 in the barrel, the paint came off the muzzle.
