Having to take the safety off is an extra step and for most police officers used to guns with out safety’s it is a step that could get them killed. Their brain and finger is the real safety. Also you can check the firearms status even in the gun rack by trying to move the safety. If it won’t...
Yea Yea that is debatable. I teach my guys patrol ready for the ar is hammer down safety on fire obviously empty chamber full mag. When they take the rifle out of the rack they charge it and put the safety on or shoot depending on what is needed
You can't hit what you can't see. Good optics allow you to get a lot more out of your rifle. I would rather have a 500 rifle with a 2K scope than a 500 scope with a 2K rifle
Looks like you took some things out of context or simply did not take the time to fully read what I posted. 1. FMJ's are recommended in pocket pistol calibers like the .380 and below because they lack enough momentum to drive a hollow point that expands past 12 inches. No where did I say to use...
WRONG. I never lumped the 10 in with the 40. You did that. The 10mm has a lot more juice than the 40 when hand loaded or when used with good ammo. As for why not to carry a .380 I already answered that one. I have had to actually kill 5 bear in my live. How many have you shot? One thing I do...
Seriously that is your argument. Not a very well thought out one and easy to counter. The .32 and .380 do not meet minimum penetration standards with expanding bullets and with FMJ bullets they leave very narrow small wound channels. The difference between a .380 and a 9mm is huge. The...
Lol guns are tools different ones for different jobs. What you are saying is like saying why don't I use a 9mm for long range rifle shooting. Basically a stupid statement. The fact is both the 40sw and the 9mm are poor choices for woods carry. Another fact is what you need in a self defense...
Neither the 40 or the 9mm is ideal for woods carry. I carry a 10mm in the woods and I live around some of the biggest bear in the country. However its not an opinion that 180 grain 40 sw JHP's perform about the same as 147 grain 9mm jhp bullets assuming a similar design is used. The difference...
A 147 grain 9mm will perform similar on game to a 180 grain 40. Purposefully comparing a 115 grain 9mm to a 180 grain 40 is intellectual dishonest Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I say don't have any barrel hanging out of the hand guard other than the muzzle device. I want the bi pod attachment in front of my hand as well as lights and other gear you might want. Also it keeps you from resting your barrel on cover vs the free floated hand guard. There is a reason that...
I spoke with Vortex and some mounts cause issues. Try a lighter torque setting on the front ring and move the scope back and the mount forward if you can. Pat
Longer the better especially for real world shooting on and around barricades. More rail means your less likely to support the rifle on the barrel which affects your pony of impact. That is why you see long rails popular in three gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The one shot stops study by Evan Marshall had serious flaws and is not generally accepted by the wound ballistics community now. Also under marshals study the 357 mag was 96% while 45 act with 230 hydra shocks from a 5 inch barrel was 96%. 40 aw was 94. And the best 9mm load in his study was...
I have a Vortex Razor 1-6 as well and love it except for the weight and the stiff magnification ring. Even with a cat tail it takes a bit to move it but a great scope overall. I love my Swarovski Z6i 1-6 but its in Austria right now getting fixed due to a problem with zeroing it. Pat
Nightforce does make good scopes but they don't have any good low power variables with day light visible illumination. Their 1-4 is way outdated. I wish they would make a 1-6 or a 1-8 and get off their arse. I just back ordered a 1.5-8 from Liberty Optics for a .308 AR build I am doing. Pat
