    Gunsmithing Bolt lifts hard

Re: Bolt lifts hard OK, if there is no FOD in the chamber/lug abutment area and the bolt is functioning properly then I would have to place a bet on the front action screw heating up and interfering with the bolt operation. Whatever you find out, let us know...this is a good one!

    Gunsmithing Bolt lifts hard

Re: Bolt lifts hard You have been "doing a lot of shooting...barrel heats up..." As a suggestion, when your rifle is "room temperature" try chambering a cross section of your reloads. Is there any considerable difference? If so mark those that are rather tight. Shoot and see if it gets...

    Gunsmithing gunsmith school

Re: gunsmith school Just for comparison, what are the costs involved in the options discussed above? Approximate cost (tuition, etc) for Lassin, Trinidad & others = $ ? Approximate cost for local college machine classes and gunsmithing classes = $? OK, now how much time is involved in both...

    Plastic Dust/dirt Rifle Case/Protection?

Re: Plastic Dust/dirt Rifle Case/Protection? Bingo! The Codura has been tried in different designs and it got coated in dirt and it became part of the problem. I have tried some denim lined with goat leather and after a couple of trips to the field, opening/closing the bolt would make your...

    Plastic Dust/dirt Rifle Case/Protection?

Here is the use/application; imagine taking your rifle out into conditions that resemble 3” of fine ground flour everywhere. But instead of flour, it’s dirt. Padding protection is not required. Looks and color are immaterial. The only objective is to keep fine dirt off the rifle. I am trying...

Re: Lathe question If I was to write an eloquent response that is to the point, I would like mine to look like STR's. I am NOT diluting the others! All combined will provide great angles to observe this from. It has been touched on, but purchasing a lathe simply because of bottom line...
